We are looking for a Senior Operational Indirect Tax Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for supporting indirect tax compliance and VAT accounting activities across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls and continuous process improvement
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, Intrastat submissions and other indirect tax filings across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure VAT balances are accurate, reconciled and fully supported for audit and financial reporting purposes.
- Analyse and validate transactional data, identifying and resolving VAT anomalies, discrepancies and process gaps.
- Partner with Finance, Tax and IT teams to improve VAT processes, controls, automation and reporting capabilities.
- Support VAT audits, regulatory requirements and evolving digital compliance initiatives, including e-invoicing.
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on VAT treatment, coding and indirect tax accounting matters.

Requirements
- Proven experience in VAT compliance, indirect tax accounting or a similar finance role within a multinational environment.
- Strong understanding of VAT legislation, indirect tax reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Experience working with ERP systems and large data sets, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, standardisation and automation.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly.
- Professional accounting or tax qualification (or working towards one) would be advantageous.
