Essential Job Functions:
  • Provides clerical assistance to include reprographics, filing, maintaining records and ordering supplies and materials.
  • Assembles and disseminates information.
  • Performs light typing of correspondence or other material from rough draft.
  • Screens visitors, telephone calls, and incoming mail.
  • Responds to routine inquiries from parents, citizens and others regarding school programs and schedules.
  • Acts as an information resource to students and faculty regarding a variety of matters related to routine school operations and policies.
  • Provides and obtains information requested from within and outside the organization.
  • Assists with data entry, data management and record keeping.
  • Assists in the clinic in the absence of the clinic assistant.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Report Preparation:

May be required to prepare reports for use by the building principal related to operations and programs.

Equipment Operation:  

Proficient in computer use and general office equipment.


Contacts:

General public and school staff – daily, to obtain or provide information.

 

Decision Making:

Supervisor is consulted in unusual or complex situations.

    

Physical Demands:

Work Environment:

No risk to physical health or safety; work is performed in an office environment; noise level is quiet to moderate.

Qualifications:

Some knowledge of office practices and procedures, of manual or automated filing systems and business English and Mathematics.  Some skill in typing, operating personal computers, word processing equipment or other automated office systems.  Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and to work effectively with all levels of personnel, students and public. Education, training or experience sufficient to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal History Investigation

  • State Police Criminal History Investigation

  • Child Protective Services (CPS) Investigation

  • Tuberculosis Screening/Test
