Job Description Summary
Lead business development efforts for Specialty Films in focused mobility OEMs, and major tiers.
This strategic role focuses on developing and implementing sales strategies for Specialty Films mobility interior and exterior applications, one of the key growth areas of SF APAC.

Main Responsibilities
1. Develop strategic partnership with selective OEMs in Automotive for mid to long term cooperation with SF / COV in Japan, maintain close relationship via active interaction including Tech Day, routine visit with key decision makers, KOLs, etc.
2. Develop strategic key account plan, lead the team to implement for success
3. Develop prioritized New-Business projects with Covestro SF’s automotive products, innovation and services at responsible OEMs and relevant tiers in Japan
4. Nurture high potential leads and opportunities at responsible OEMs and key tiers for SF-relevant automotive solutions in Japan market; secure OEM commitment to project
5. Steer & coordinate the transplant business of major Japanese Automotive OEMs and tiers in other regions outside of Japan (e.g. China, ASEAN, India, North America)
6. Track the projects through the value chain and finalize sales results by positioning SF at OEMs for preferable material specifications, facilitating customer visits and discussions and providing information for sales pricing and contracts negotiation in line with SF MOB strategy and SF APAC growth plans.
7. Develop and maintain key contacts at responsible OEMs and major tiers; And coordinate all aspects of customer needs from relevant functions at OEMs and major tiers at all relevant levels, with departments at Covestro, to provide excellent material products, innovation and services
8. Collaborate with EP MOB Japan closely and be the focal point with EP Japan’s MOB Market Development and Key Account Managers, leverage COV brand, influence, resource to drive penetration of SF products
9. Articulate for teams with insights and foresights of target OEMs for better collaboration
10. Closely monitor the competitive information (commercial & technical) in selective OEMs, lead the discussion internally for decision making, and assure solid strategic inputs, financial and technical feeds for business
11. Lead and develop mobility business team in Specialty Films Japan with mobility strategy development, clear goal setting, and team/project management

1. Lead to achieve SF Japan projects and sales initiation of New Business in target OEMs and relevant tiers which bring the best financial returns in 1-3 years. Relevant business volume up to 260 tons / 2,300 KUSD in 2028

Qualification Requirements (Education & Work Experience)
1. Knowledge of automotive development process, especially for spec-in material solutions in auto applications; Working experiences in OEMs or tier one in Japan is highly preferred
2. Knows the design language and capable of realize the design feature from engineering perspective
3. Films know how, especially FIM process, Polycarbonate Films and others (TPU, Pontacol)
4. Experience in project leader with project management knowledge and skill, including strategic mindset and leadership, excellent stakeholder management, is highly preferred
5. Over 8 years working experience in automotive business development with track records of realizing ground-breaking projects into scalable sales. Needs certain seniority if working directly with decision makers on OEM side
6. Self-motivated, ownership, engaging people
7. Excellent in communicating customer needs, account plan and promotion with digital tools to management
8. Professional in articulating complicated customer/market situations; walk through difficulties with existing solutions or potential solutions to develop
9. Capable of influencing stakeholders to drive account management goals; confident with strategic discussions at both customers and Covestro
10. Capable of exploring opportunities, leading projects, seeking solutions, predicting and negotiating customer expectations
11. Undergraduate or above educational degree in engineering or material science; Acquainted with polymer knowledge through a technical degree and/or experience in engineering plastics
12. Native Japanese speaker and fluent in written and oral English
