Principal Product Engineer for SiC JFET Division for New Product Development. The Product Engineer delivers new products to market on time with expected product and process robustness, focusing on technology platform and new products development execution, design for manufacturability, development cycle time, new product performance and cost, and production. This role interfaces with design, process, test and reliability engineering to solve complex technical problems.
Responsibilities- Work with a team of NPD Engineers supporting business unit objectives.
- Maintain NPD project ownership and provide project timelines to stakeholders for smooth project completion.
- Define Product (SiC JFETs/CJFETs/MOSFETs) specification requirements for new products with technology development engineering and product marketing leader.
- Validate electrical parameters through evaluating electrical characterization data following NPD process.
- Facilitate and coordinate design, process, assembly, test and releasing of products to market.
- Work closely with design, test, and device engineers in varied locations in a team environment.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders for effective problem solving and timely completion of product development.
- Provide and coordinate technical support for the product line
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams, establishing relationships with key contacts in wafer fabs and assembly sites for effective project coordination and execution
- Generate and maintain project documents including product data sheets, test specifications, engineering build requests, reliability test allocation, test-related reports, and support for manufacturing-related documentation
- Implement agile management for project documentation
- Drive collaboration and coordination of global functional teams
- Prepare and present status updates and gate reviews of critical projects to the Project Review Board
- Work with Sustain PE/DE (Device Engineering) team to maintain quality issues and stabilization (yield improvement) for mass production
- Bachelor or master’s degree in Electrical or Electronic or Semiconductor Engineering or similar degree.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in developing Semiconductor devices, as a Product Engineer, or Product Development Engineer, or Test Engineer, or Application Engineer.
- Experience in semiconductor processes (silicon fabrication/probe testing/assembly/final testing)
- Familiar with power device operations and applications
- Knowledge of Power Discrete (SiC and Si MOSFET/JFET) device physics
- Knowledge of Power Discrete quality and reliability mechanisms
- Knowledge of Power Discrete wafer and component level testing and yield improvement
- Good understanding of the process of fabrication and assembly
- Understanding of semiconductor device failure mode and mechanism or experience in failure analysis
- Strong probability and statistics background including Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong working ownership with self-motivated attitude and engineering mindset
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and understanding program/project management methodologies
- Excellent data handling skills using office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, JMP, Exensio, and other relevant applications
- Fluent English communication skills encompassing speaking, listening, and writing capabilities
