Cloud Imperium is looking for a Senior Network Programmer in our Wilmslow Studio to work on our exciting MMO PC space combat sim, Star Citizen.
**What do our Senior Network Programmers do?:**
* Working on our core network library
* Research and implement new cutting edge networking technology and tools
* Analyse, refactor and improve upon existing network codebase
* Helping programmers from other teams to implement networked game features
* Assist team members with debugging and fixing network related problems
* Pro-actively identify and address problems
* Integrating the client and server with our backend services
* Mentoring junior members of the team
**What do we expect from our Senior Network Programmers?:**
* Strong C++ and multi-threaded programming skills
* Work well in a cooperative team environment
* Strong software debugging skills to effectively track/diagnose/solve a variety of complex issues
* Work well in a cooperative team environment
* Ability to innovate, plan, and deliver full features
* Excellent English communication, both written and verbal
**Qualifications and Experience:**
* Experienced in TCP and UDP network programming
* Experience developing server mesh technologies
* Experience profiling and optimizing (network, CPU, memory, IO)
* Development experience in Windows/Linux
* Experience with client/server development network traffic management
* Management experience
