Job Description

  • Purpose of position: 

    As a network programmer, you will be responsible for selecting appropriate network function design solutions for different game projects, and effectively use the middleware provided by Ubisoft's middle platform combined with independent development to implement the game's network-related functions. Your solution needs to support game clients to access background services in a fast, efficient and stable manner. At the same time, it is necessary to consider cross-platform play, multi-platform support, high concurrency and other key requirements. In addition, in your daily work, you need to independently drive function design, execution, troubleshooting and promote optimization. 

    Job Requirements: 

  • Strong experience in C++ development and online services development (C# .Net Core or other languages). 

  • Experience in game development. 

  • Knowledge of online service APIs and communication protocols. 

  • Understanding of game networking models, including client-server and peer-to-peer architectures. 

  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment. 

  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese.  

  • Knowledge of Git-based workflows, GitLab CI/CD, or Docker are considered a plus. 

  • Experience with Linux is considered a plus. 

  • Experience in console development is a plus. 

  • Strong learning ability is a plus. 

Qualifications

  • Implement and maintain online game services and networking solutions.   

  • Work closely with gameplay programmers to integrate network library into the game. 

  • Debug problems related to network library and identify network performance issue. 

  • Work closely with game designers to clarify network/server design requirements. 

  • Take responsibility for all online requirements for production including first party and UOR. 

  • Contribute to system design and technical documentation. Give insight from high level of network. 

  • Be a bridge between production team and Ubisoft online service team. Taking new tech and solution from online service team to benefit production. 

Skills Required
