Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Senior Network Engineer to join NDSS IT India team at the Gurgaon office. This role involves working closely with global and regional peers to support, implement, and enhance network and infrastructure technologies across the organization.
The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for ensuring high network performance, reliability, security, and availability while supporting key initiatives and project implementations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Network Implementation: Configure and deploy network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, VPNs, and other network devices. Collaborate with GCS teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
- Network Maintenance & Monitoring: Perform routine maintenance such as firmware upgrades, patching, and performance tuning. Monitor network capacity, performance, and security to proactively address issues and ensure high availability.
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve network incidents, outages, and performance bottlenecks using monitoring tools, diagnostics, and cross-team collaboration.
- Network Documentation: Develop and maintain network diagrams, configuration files, SOPs, and related documentation to support transparency, continuity, and knowledge sharing.
- Research & Evaluation: Stay current with emerging networking technologies and best practices. Assess new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance network performance and security; recommend improvements when appropriate.
- Change Management: Plan and execute network-related changes—including configuration updates, upgrades, and integrations—while adhering to established change management processes to minimize service disruption.
Required Skills & Attributes:
- 8–10 years of overall IT experience, with at least 6–7 years managing medium-scale enterprise IT/network operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to create clear technical documentation.
- Hands-on experience with Check Point firewalls or similar technologies—firewall rule configuration, VPN setup, NAT, security policies, threat prevention, and troubleshooting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, the OSI model, routing, switching, subnetting, VLAN configuration, and the setup and management of access points with controllers.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience using network monitoring tools for performance tuning and diagnostics.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud networking (AWS, Azure) is an added advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple simultaneous projects.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE are preferred.
