Summary:
The Network Engineer will design, implement, and support secure network solutions for The Hartford’s enterprise environment. This role requires expertise in modern network technologies and a commitment to operational excellence.
Possesses functional knowledge and skills reflective of a competent practitioner with the ability to deliver on work of high technical complexity. Supports technical management in the analysis of short- and long-range technical infrastructure requirements and recommends innovations which anticipate the future impact of changing technical requirements, hardware and software on the client area's applications and systems. Participates on multiple project teams as a team member and provides support within their area of expertise. Responsibilities may include systems and performance monitoring, capacity planning, systems software installation and configuration, design, implementation and testing of the technical infrastructure within the disaster recovery environment, identification of the key drivers and critical success factors that are driving change in the systems infrastructure and providing technical consulting on highly complex issues surrounding the usage of The Hartford's infrastructure and on the integration of application systems into the infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor network systems and performance
- Plan and execute capacity upgrades
- Install and configure systems software
- Lead disaster recovery infrastructure design and testing
- Provide technical consulting on complex integration issues
Required Qualifications:
- 5–10 years’ experience in network engineering
- Proficiency with Cisco Iron Port Web Proxy, Z-Scaler ZIA, Infoblox DNS/DHCP/IPAM
- Experience with ServiceNow and network diagramming
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent customer relations, support and communication, and organizational skills are essential.
This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
