The Role

Senior Network Engineer

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing network systems across the enterprise. This role involves managing local, cloud, and wide area networks, ensuring their integrity, performance, and security. The engineer will troubleshoot network issues, provide capacity planning solutions, and deliver top-notch support to our customer base. This role requires an experienced network professional who excels in a fast-paced environment, managing projects with attention to detail and quality.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Guide the design and implementation of secure network solutions across the global infrastructure.
  • Design and manage implementation of WAN/LAN and Wireless networks, supporting Firewalls, Routers, and switches.
  • Develop and maintain system and network documentation. Oversee network, system, and site-specific documentation and standards.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Cisco/Palo Alto firewalls, with a working knowledge of firewall security services and other network security products.
  • Provide recommendations on network reliability, optimization, and security. Train junior engineers in advanced networking capabilities as required.
  • Maintain cloud-based virtual environments for both small and enterprise-level initiatives.
  • Provide third level support to our customer base.
  • Interface with vendor support service groups as needed to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
  • Develop project plans for implementing new network communications technologies and systems.
  • Maintain technical expertise and support engineering efforts in technical analysis, review, testing, and evaluation of complex network systems.
  • Analyze, recommend, and implement solutions for redundancy and disaster recovery to maximize uptime.
  • oDefine, implement, and monitor security protocols covering networks, systems, applications, and facilities.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Seeking at least 8 years of related experience. Deep experience with Cisco, HP/Aruba, Meraki, Fortinet and Palo Alto technology stacks is highly desired.
  • Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, and cloud hosting technologies.
  • Strong background in SDWAN design, implementation, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Windows server technologies, PowerShell scripting, virtual and cloud computing, telephony systems, and associated networking.
  • Technical writing skills.

Certifications:

  • Network/Security certifications such as CCNA, CCNP strongly preferred.
  • AWS, Azure, and virtual technology certifications desired.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in both independent and team-oriented environments.
  • Translate business needs into process and technology solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, critical thinking, presentation, and facilitation.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Discretion and judgment in handling confidential information.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Travel as required to remote locations for project support.
  • Periodic after-hours work due to necessary upgrade schedules or critical outages.
  • Kneeling, crawling, and other positions to access and maintain equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds of technology-related equipment.

Salary may vary depending on factors such as confirmed job-related skills, experience, and location.

However, the pay range for this position is as follows. Sales Positions are eligible for a Variable Incentive

$86,300.00 - $160,300.00
