Everforth ECS is looking for a Senior Network Engineerto support work in its Quantico, VA office.
Position Overview
This is a hands-on position responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network, server, virtualization, storage, and supporting infrastructure.
The role has a strong emphasis on networking, switching, firewalls, DNS, and infrastructure troubleshooting and works closely with the technical team lead, development, database, and cybersecurity personnel.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network, server, virtualization, storage, firewall, and supporting infrastructure.
- Manage switching, routing, VLANs, network segmentation, DNS, firewall policies, NAT, VPNs, and related network services.
- Support Windows Server infrastructure and associated enterprise services.
- Diagnose complex infrastructure and connectivity issues across physical, network, virtualization, operating system, and application layers.
- Maintain virtualization, storage, backup/recovery, logging, monitoring, and authentication infrastructure.
- Perform hands-on datacenter work including rack/stack, copper and fiber cabling, optics/transceivers, hardware replacement, firmware upgrades, and physical-layer troubleshooting.
- Support infrastructure upgrades, lifecycle planning, cybersecurity requirements, and vulnerability remediation.
- Maintain and contribute to technical documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and annual system documentation reviews.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience in network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a related discipline.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent education, certifications, and experience.
- Strong enterprise networking knowledge including TCP/IP, subnetting, switching, routing, VLANs, ACLs, NAT, VPNs, DNS, and network segmentation.
- Strong understanding of physical network infrastructure including Ethernet, copper/fiber, optics/transceivers, and link troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, virtualization, enterprise storage, backup/recovery, and infrastructure monitoring.
- Strong cross-platform troubleshooting skills and the ability to independently research, diagnose, and resolve complex technical problems.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity hardening principles and secure enterprise environments.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Must possess or obtain an applicable DoD 8140 certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE, within 90 days of employment.
- Ability to work primarily on-site at MCB Quantico.
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000
