Position Summary

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for analyzing, planning, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network solutions on-premises, at data centers, and across physical, cloud, and hybrid environments in our multinational organization. In this role, you will lead network technology upgrade and expansion projects — including hardware/software installation and integration testing — while coordinating these activities without disrupting other systems or client service delivery. You will also manage, optimize, and maintain existing infrastructure, monitor and diagnose performance issues, and take part in designing and implementing new data center/server room infrastructure for new clients. Our ideal candidate has excellent problem-solving skills and a thorough knowledge of network architecture, administration, and automation. You will work with our team of engineers to optimize network usage and ensure the security and data protection of our networks. The Senior Network Engineer reports directly to the IT Infrastructure Director.

Key responsibilities
  • Maintain network availability for corporate, data centers, WAN, and cloud networks.

  • Develop and build out network infrastructure for projects, with hands-on involvement in network planning, architecture design, and engineering.

  • Install, configure, and maintain network hosts and services such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN endpoints.

  • Design, implement, and configure next-generation firewalls, including application visibility, threat prevention, network security mitigation strategies, and IDS/IPS solutions.

  • Provide technical input in reviewing architecture, policies, and procedures.

  • Optimize the reliability, performance, supportability, and security of our production and R&D infrastructure.

  • Design corporate standards and develop network enhancements.

  • Resolve issues of varying complexity related to network planning, configuration, and optimization.

  • Develop solutions using Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN) technologies to connect on-premises networks to cloud environments.

  • Recommend network design enhancements to improve cloud services and on-premises system availability and functionality.

  • Integrate communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links, and protocols into complete network configurations.

  • Develop capacity plans for new and existing infrastructure.

  • Perform network maintenance and upgrades (typically during normal working hours, occasionally during evenings or weekends).

  • Troubleshoot network issues and outages, overseeing unique or escalated cases.

  • Identify and help implement monitoring to ensure the health, performance, and security of production and non-production cloud infrastructure.

  • Work directly with ISPs/vendors to resolve network-related issues.

  • Manage configuration of network encryption methods, including IPsec site-to-site VPN tunnels.

  • Design networking solutions leveraging cloud technology for cloud/hybrid architecture

  • Continuously assess and evaluate transformational opportunities leveraging automation for

    greater efficiency and performance.

  • Evaluate and apply AI-driven tools and techniques (e.g., AIOps, predictive network analytics, intelligent traffic optimization, automated anomaly and threat detection) to optimize network operations and performance.

  • Explore and implement integrations using the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and similar frameworks to connect AI/LLM-based tools with network systems for automated monitoring, diagnostics, and operational tasks.

  • Document setup on an ongoing basis for on-premises and cloud environments, including network diagrams.

  • Assist in the development and documentation of technical standards and implement approved methods of procedure.

  • Mentor and train other team members, particularly junior network engineers, and provide technical leadership across network projects.

  • Respond to networking issues generated via alerting systems, service desk, or Tier 1–4 tickets.
