Job Summary
Iron Mountain is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Network Engineer to join our Global IT leadership Team (Custom Support Services).
In this role, you will be a core technology expert within the UK Secure IT organization. You will be responsible for deploying and maintaining critical network infrastructure required meeting our growing IT requirements, customer certifications, audit compliance, regulatory assessments, and UK Government sector requirements.
As a senior member of the team, you will collaborate closely with operations and broader IT leadership to drive strategic project execution and maintain a robust, secure network environment.
Key Security & Location Requirements:
- Citizenship & Residency: Must be a UK Citizen and have resided in the UK for the previous five consecutive years.
- Security Clearance: Role is strictly conditional on successfully passing or holding governmental security clearance.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
In this role, you will:
- Own UK Government Networking Infrastructure: Implement, maintain, and support advanced network infrastructure systems—primarily focused on the Cisco networking platform—to support Iron Mountain’s business partnership with the UK Government Sector.
- Enhance Security Posture: Implement and maintain advanced Data Center Network Technologies, including Network Segmentation, Next-Generation Firewalls, Security Threat Protection, SD-WAN, Content Delivery/Load Balancing, and advanced flow mapping tools.
- Lifecycle & Asset Management: Provide full lifecycle management for all equipment across Iron Mountain UK Secure Data Centers and UK Field offices, including maintaining component inventories and capacity management reporting.
- Lead Project Teams & Mentor: Review and assist with project deployment plans, drive execution alongside PMs and Risk Management, and actively guide/mentor fellow network administrators and engineers.
- Drive Compliance & Reporting: Produce regular, accurate management reports related to KPIs/KRIs, metrics, and the status of security and compliance-related initiatives to present to senior leadership.
What You'll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)
The ideal candidate will have:
- Domain Expertise: A proven track record of deep experience in non-management IT infrastructure roles, with a focus on high-availability, secure corporate or government networks.
- Advanced Cisco & Networking Knowledge: Deep technical expertise in Advanced Cisco Systems Platforms (including ACI Switching, Wireless, and ISE), Advanced SD-WAN functionality, and Public Cloud Networking techniques.
- Content Delivery Platforms: Hands-on experience with Advanced Content Delivery Platforms, such as F5 and Riverbed.
- Operational Best Practices: Strong familiarity with IT operations in an always up, always-available service environment (CI/CD), process improvement techniques, and collaborating with third party vendors/professional services.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate excellently at all levels, solve complex project challenges proactively, and create growth opportunities to stretch and develop peers.
