(AFM) the Senior Network Systems Administrator is responsible for Network and Systems administration and support, servers, internet and VPN security, firewalls, backup systems in a Windows environment. This position entails high client interaction, daily administration, and support of AFM’s customer base.

AFM’s services include land and wildlife management; land sales and acquisitions; forest inventory, planning, and design; growth and yield modeling; cash-flow projections; environmental and farmland services; appraisal; forest resource data management; and harvest scheduling.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain the integrity, availability, and security of company electronic files, databases, and systems through proper access controls, routine maintenance, and daily backups.
- Manage and expand the company’s hardware infrastructure by recommending, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting servers, workstations, printers, routers, and related equipment.
- Install, upgrade, and test network hardware and software components to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Monitor network performance and perform diagnostics to isolate, identify, and resolve common network issues.
- Troubleshoot problems related to networks, web services, mail services, and other critical systems.
- Maintain up‑to‑date anti‑virus and endpoint protection systems across the organization.
- Manage Active Directory, including user and computer account creation/deletion, group membership management, and account unlocks.
- Support hybrid identity environments and manage identity lifecycle through Azure AD and on‑premises Active Directory.
- Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Oversee incident response processes, including incident tracking, risk management, and change management activities.
- Collaborate with external IT consultants, vendors, and service providers to support infrastructure and security initiatives.
- Prepare technical reports, system documentation, and instructional materials to support ongoing operations and training.
- Assist users in resolving technical issues related to systems, applications, and project requirements.
- Provide recommendations to the IT Manager regarding technology improvements and system upgrades.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing industry publications, building professional networks, and staying current with best practices.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned to support organizational goals.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or technical school; or three to four years Systems Administration experience
- Experience administering Active Directory and Azure AD (hybrid identity)
- Administration of Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive
- Experience managing servers, workstations, routers, printers, and related hardware
- Experience with VPNs, firewalls, network performance monitoring, and diagnostics
- Backup system administration and maintaining routine backups
- Maintain up-to-date anti-virus and endpoint protection across the organization
- Incident response, incident tracking, risk management, and change management experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate technical issues to all levels
