Sourceability® is a global digital distributor of electronic components transforming how modern businesses bring products to market. With innovation, quality and logistics as the backbone of the company, Sourceability’s cutting-edge products and services expedite the procurement process across a wide range of industries, including communications/cellular, consumer electronics, and auto manufacturing.
Sourceability is building a new Global Engineering Organization (GEO) to strengthen internal software delivery, improve production ownership, and build long-term engineering capability inside the company.
We are looking for a Senior NetSuite Engineer to own technical NetSuite engineering and technical governance within GEO. This role will focus on NetSuite customizations, SuiteScript development, integrations, release control, technical quality, production fixes, and long-term maintainability of the NetSuite technical environment.
This role is not the business owner of Finance, accounting, order management, or other business processes. Finance, Business, and functional stakeholders remain responsible for business process decisions, approvals, accounting logic, user workflows, and business priorities. GEO owns technical NetSuite engineering, scripts, integrations, technical changes, release practices, production fixes, and technical quality.
The right candidate should be comfortable working closely with Finance, Operations, business analysts, Product / Delivery Managers, Engineering Managers, and external NetSuite resources while keeping clear technical governance and change control for the platform.
Insight on Your Impact:
- Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot NetSuite customizations, including SuiteScripts, SuiteFlow workflows, custom records, saved searches, SuiteAnalytics, RESTlets, SuiteTalk integrations, and related SuiteCloud components.
- Own technical governance for NetSuite engineering work, including coding standards, review practices, change control, release readiness, sandbox-to-production promotion, and documentation discipline.
- Build and maintain integrations between NetSuite and internal systems, external APIs, middleware platforms, finance tools, order management workflows, inventory processes, and other business-critical systems.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, business analysts, and functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate approved process needs into maintainable technical NetSuite solutions.
- Partner with Product / Delivery Managers to clarify intake, scope, acceptance criteria, priority, dependencies, UAT needs, and release communication for NetSuite-related technical work.
- Partner with Engineering Managers, Product Group Team Leads / Architects, DevOps, DBA, Infrastructure, and Security to align NetSuite technical work with GEO standards and production support expectations.
- Review NetSuite scripts, workflows, integrations, and configuration changes for reliability, maintainability, security, performance, and production risk.
- Monitor NetSuite platform health, script errors, integration failures, performance concerns, scheduled job failures, and configuration conflicts.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, defects, integration problems, data flow errors, and technical blockers affecting NetSuite-supported business operations.
- Support L3 technical escalation for NetSuite technical issues and contribute to root cause analysis after production incidents or major defects.
- Identify technical debt, fragile customizations, undocumented scripts, risky workflows, integration weaknesses, and single points of failure in the NetSuite technical environment.
- Create practical remediation plans for NetSuite technical risks without disrupting business operations.
- Maintain technical documentation for scripts, workflows, integrations, release procedures, dependencies, known risks, and support procedures.
- Stay current with NetSuite releases and evaluate technical impact, risks, required testing, and opportunities relevant to Sourceability's environment.
Your Qualifications, Your Influence:
- 5+ years of hands-on NetSuite development or NetSuite technical engineering experience.
- Strong experience with SuiteScript 1.0 and 2.x, including Client Scripts, User Event Scripts, Scheduled Scripts, RESTlets, Map/Reduce scripts, and related SuiteCloud development patterns.
- Strong experience with SuiteFlow, SuiteTalk SOAP / REST APIs, SuiteAnalytics, saved searches, custom records, forms, fields, roles, permissions, and NetSuite data models.
- Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting NetSuite integrations with internal systems, external platforms, middleware, APIs, file exchanges, and scheduled processes.
- Experience with NetSuite change management, sandbox-to-production promotion, release control, technical documentation, and post-release validation.
- Ability to translate approved business process requirements into maintainable technical designs without taking over business process ownership.
- Strong understanding of NetSuite performance, governance limits, script execution behavior, error handling, logging, and operational troubleshooting.
- Experience diagnosing production issues, script failures, workflow conflicts, integration problems, data inconsistencies, and user-impacting defects.
- Ability to work with Finance, Operations, business analysts, Product / Delivery, Engineering, DevOps, DBA, Infrastructure, Security, and external vendors.
- Clear communication skills with ability to explain technical risks, tradeoffs, dependencies, and remediation options to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong ownership mindset, structured problem-solving approach, and ability to work independently in a distributed environment.
- Ability to build technical governance and process discipline without creating unnecessary bureaucracy for business users.
Preferred Skills and Technical Familiarity:
- NetSuite SuiteCloud Developer certification or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with SuiteCommerce or SuiteCommerce Advanced in B2B e-commerce environments.
- Experience with integration middleware platforms such as Celigo, Boomi, MuleSoft, Workato, or similar tools.
- Experience with ERP integrations, finance systems, order management, inventory, purchasing, sales, warehouse workflows, billing, or revenue-related processes.
- Understanding of accounting, inventory, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and global B2B business processes.
- Experience supporting ERP migration, consolidation, optimization, or technical cleanup projects.
- Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, SQL, and source control practices.
- Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, Git, or similar tools for tracking technical work, defects, changes, and releases.
- Experience in electronic components, technology distribution, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, e-commerce, or similar B2B environments.
- Experience working with external NetSuite contractors or implementation partners while maintaining internal technical governance.
Success in the First 90 Days:
- Understand Sourceability's NetSuite environment, major customizations, scripts, workflows, integrations, users, business dependencies, and production risks.
- Establish working relationships with Finance, Operations, business analysts, Product / Delivery Managers, Engineering Managers, DevOps, DBA, Infrastructure, Security, and external NetSuite resources.
- Identify the most important NetSuite technical risks, undocumented scripts, fragile integrations, workflow conflicts, technical debt, and support gaps.
- Create or improve visibility into active NetSuite technical work, defects, integration issues, enhancement requests, release items, and risks through agreed tracking tools such as Azure DevOps where applicable.
- Define practical technical governance expectations for NetSuite scripts, workflows, integrations, code review, documentation, testing, and release promotion.
- Deliver at least one meaningful technical fix, stabilization activity, documentation improvement, or risk-reduction item without disrupting business operations.
- Improve sandbox-to-production release discipline and post-release validation for NetSuite technical changes.
- Support L3 technical investigation and root cause analysis for NetSuite-related production issues if needed.
- Create an initial technical remediation or stabilization plan for NetSuite customizations, integrations, and known platform risks.
What This Role Does Not Own:
This role does not own Finance, accounting, order management, inventory, or other business process decisions. Business and functional stakeholders remain responsible for business process ownership, approvals, accounting logic, user workflows, and business priorities.
This role does not own formal people management. Engineering Managers remain responsible for hiring, performance management, compensation input, team structure, and capacity planning.
This role does not independently approve business requirements or user acceptance. Product / Delivery Managers and business stakeholders remain responsible for intake, priority alignment, UAT coordination, and business acceptance.
This role does not independently commit delivery dates without alignment with Engineering Managers, Product / Delivery Managers, and relevant business stakeholders.
This role does not replace functional NetSuite administration or business analyst responsibilities, but it does provide technical governance over NetSuite scripts, integrations, customizations, releases, and production fixes.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary
- Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
- Collaborative global work environment
- PTO
