Senior Netsuite Consultant

Job Description

The Senior NetSuite Technical Consultant is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of advanced technical solutions in NetSuite. This role focuses on building, customizing, and integrating NetSuite applications using SuiteScript, SuiteTalk, RESTlets, and other SuiteCloud technologies. The consultant will work closely with functional teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining custom scripts, integrations, and automation within NetSuite, following the design specifications provided by the solution architect or functional lead.

Key Responsibilities

· Design and develop NetSuite customizations using SuiteScript 1.0 / 2.x, SuiteFlow, and SuiteBuilder.

· Build and maintain RESTlets, Suitelets, and User Event scripts to support custom business processes.

· Design and implement API-based integrations between NetSuite and third-party systems using SuiteTalk (SOAP/REST), JSON, and XML payloads.

· Develop and support scheduled scripts, Map/Reduce scripts, and client scripts to automate and streamline business operations.

· Participate in system architecture and technical design discussions, ensuring scalability and adherence to best practices.

· Work with functional consultants to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications.

· Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues in NetSuite and integrated systems.

· Support data migration, CSV imports, and integration testing as needed.

Required Technical Skills

· Expert-level proficiency in SuiteScript 1.0 and 2.x (User Event, Client, Suitelet, Map/Reduce, Scheduled scripts).

· Strong experience in RESTlets, SuiteTalk SOAP/REST, and integration design (Celigo, Dell Boomi, or MuleSoft preferred).

· Deep understanding of NetSuite data model, record types, and system architecture.

· Experience with SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF) for script deployment and management.

· Solid knowledge of JavaScript, SQL, JSON/XML, and data transformation logic.

· Familiarity with error handling, governance limits, and performance optimization in NetSuite scripting.

· Hands-on experience with CSV imports, saved searches, and SuiteAnalytics queries (SuiteQL).

Summary

The Senior NetSuite Technical Consultant is a developer/architect role, not a functional role. This person must be proficient in SuiteScript, integrations (REST/SOAP), custom development, and SDF deployments. Functional configuration, workflow setup, and business process gathering are secondary — this role focuses primarily on coding, technical design, and integration architecture.
