Principal Node/NestJS Developer

THE ROLE: 

We are seeking a Principal Node/NestJS Developer to architect, lead, and deliver highly scalable and high-performance backend systems using Node.js and NestJS. This role emphasizes designing complex, robust APIs, defining sophisticated data models, and ensuring seamless and highly efficient integration with frontend applications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, strategic vision, deep technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering modular, maintainable, and innovative solutions aligned with our long-term business objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Principal-level developer (10+ years) with extensive experience architecting and developing scalable backend systems and APIs from scratch using Node.js and NestJS.

• Lead technical strategy and architecture decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable, performant, and maintainable over the long term.

• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineering teams, fostering growth and enhancing technical capabilities.

• Collaborate closely with product management, UX/UI teams, and frontend developers to define detailed system requirements, integration strategies, and implementation plans.

• Extreme attention to detail, ensuring the delivery of precise data models and endpoints tailored to complex views and user experiences.

• Champion best practices for backend engineering, including coding standards, testing strategies, CI/CD processes, and performance optimization.

• Ownership: Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges, drive initiatives, and innovate continuously to meet and exceed business objectives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Principal-level expertise (10+ years) developing and architecting enterprise-grade, high-performance APIs using Node.js and NestJS.

• Deep proficiency with advanced TypeScript features (including generics, decorators, asynchronous programming, etc.).

• Expert-level understanding of object-oriented programming, architectural patterns, and system design for creating modular, scalable, and maintainable solutions.

• Demonstrated experience architecting and maintaining large-scale NX monorepos, including complex project structures, shared libraries, and build configurations.

• Extensive experience collaborating with frontend engineering teams to architect seamless, efficient integration strategies between backend APIs and UI applications.

• Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts, ask insightful questions, and facilitate effective problem-solving discussions across teams.

• Ownership: Proven track record of proactively driving results, owning end-to-end solutions, and demonstrating innovative problem-solving to achieve strategic business objectives.
