DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mortgage Data Analyst – Data Transformation to support a large-scale enterprise data transformation initiative for a leading financial services organization. In this role, you will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business requirements are accurately translated into scalable, cloud-based data solutions. A key role in data analysis, business process optimization, requirements definition, stakeholder collaboration, and ensuring high-quality delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform data lineage analysis, data profiling, and data mapping across enterprise applications and data platforms.
- Analyze legacy data assets and map them to target-state cloud-based data architectures.
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for enterprise data transformation initiatives.
- Create user stories, business process flows, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria for development teams.
- Partner with business stakeholders, architects, data engineers, and product owners to define business-aligned data solutions.
- Evaluate event-driven and entity-based data models while identifying transformation opportunities and data gaps.
- Support cloud-based data ingestion and integration initiatives.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Quality Assurance (QA), and validation activities.
- Ensure deliverables meet business objectives, quality standards, and project timelines.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, manage expectations, and communicate project progress effectively.
- Utilize AI-powered productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or other approved LLMs to improve documentation, analysis, and delivery efficiency.
- Support enterprise data governance initiatives and ensure adherence to organizational data standards.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of Business Analysis experience supporting enterprise data, analytics, or technology transformation programs.
- Proven experience in data lineage, data profiling, data mapping, and business process analysis.
- Strong experience gathering and documenting business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and modern data ingestion architectures.
- Knowledge of enterprise data architecture, data governance, and data integration concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
- Experience within the secondary mortgage industry.
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with enterprise data modernization and legacy system transformation projects.
- Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar Agile project management tools.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted business analysis tools including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude.
- Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, Scrum, or Agile certifications are a plus.
