Senior Mobile Quality Assurance Engineer
Allegion is looking for a passionate Senior Mobile Quality Assurance Engineer to work as part of a highly engaged small team within a global organization of 12,000+ employees, representing 30+ brands (including Schlage, Von Duprin and LCN) focused on safety, security and access management. You’ll work on solutions that will enable seamless access and help keep you and your loved ones safe and secure where they work, live and thrive.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and execute manual tests against our iOS and Android mobile applications that communicate with our hardware products.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated tests using tools such as Appium, Espresso, or XCUITest to improve quality, efficiency, and enable faster delivery of high-quality software.
- Translate functional requirements and acceptance criteria into detailed verification test plan and test scripts ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
- Help implement and define strategies for automated functional testing, including integration into the CI/CD pipeline using tools like Fastlan and GitLab CI.
- Collaborate with Product and Development throughout the SDLC.
What you need to succee:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Manual Testing Skills:
- Proficiency in writing and executing detailed test cases and test plans.
- Familiarity with different types of mobile testing (functional, usability, performance, compatibility, and regression testing).
- Knowledge of mobile app life cycle and development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
- Automation Testing:
- Experience with mobile automation testing tools such as Appium, Espresso (for Android), and XCUITest (for iOS).
- Ability to write and maintain automated test scripts using programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, Python, or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkin or GitLab CI.
- API Testing:
- Proficiency in using tools like Postman or Charles Proxy for testing APIs.
- Understanding of RESTful services and ability to validate API responses.
- Version Control and Collaboration:
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Ability to collaborate effectively using tools like Jira, Confluence, GitLab or Trello.
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices for automated build and deployment processes.
- Experience with mobile-specific CI/CD tools like Fastlane, or GitLab CI, XCodeCloud.
- Platform-Specific Skills:
- For Android:
- Proficiency in using Android Studio for testing and debugging.
- Familiarity with ADB (Android Debug Bridge) for interacting with Android devices.
- Knowledge of Robolectric for unit testing.
- Proficiency with Android's built-in testing tools (e.g., Logcat, Android Profiler).
- Experience in setting up and using Android emulators and real devices for testing.
- Understanding of Android fragmentation and compatibility testing across different OS versions and devices.
- For iOS:
- Proficiency in using Xcode for testing and debugging.
- Familiarity with Xcode Instruments for performance and memory analysis.
- Knowledge of XCTest for unit testing.
- Proficiency with Apple's built-in testing tools (e.g., Console, Device Logs).
- Experience in setting up and using iOS simulators and real devices for testing.
- Understanding of iOS compatibility testing across different devices and OS versions.
- For Android:
- Have exposure to Azure DevOps tool or other test management tool , such as TestRail, for maintaining test cases, updating the test results and sending the test updates to leads/Manager on timely basis.
- Are passionate about testing software and are constantly striving to make software testing more consistent, efficient and reliable.

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
- The expected Base Salary Range: $116,300 - $174,900. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
