Position Description:
Develops and implements Android applications using Android Studio with SDK tools, modern front-end technologies and languages including Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and Node, and modern API technologies and programming languages including Spring Boot, NodeJS. and Java. Deploys applications in a DevOps environment using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and tools including Jenkins, Artifactory, and Docker. Designs and builds resilient and scalable cloud services on AWS using Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Kubectl, and Helm platforms. Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Implements process improvements within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) environment.
Manages and monitors all installed systems and infrastructure.
Installs, configures, tests and maintains operating systems, application software and system management tools.
Ensures the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
Monitors and tests application performance for potential bottlenecks, identifies possible solutions, and works with developers to implement solutions.
Writes and maintains custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
Creates close partnership with vendors supporting technology teams.
Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on major projects and proposes modifications and improvements based on user need.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Mobile Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and deploying native mobile applications at an enterprise-level Android development environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Mobile Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and deploying native mobile applications at an enterprise-level Android development.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing mobile applications and reusable frameworks using Kotlin, Java, GitHub, Jenkins, Firebase and SonarQube.
DE defining technical architecture for mobile applications using MVVM, MVC, and MVP architecture patterns; and using Material library and Jetpack library for Android application development.
DE building multi-modules to maintain and scale android applications; and using coroutines to perform asynchronous programming and simplify tasks including network calls, database operations, and enhanced error handling.
DE building modern, architecturally compliant, and future-ready Android applications using Android architecture components and open-source libraries –retrofit, Picasso, and OkHttp.
