- Join Intel as a Memory Systems Firmware Development Engineer, where your expertise will contribute to shaping the future of memory systems technology. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing and implementing firmware that bridges low-level hardware intricacies with higher-level software, enabling stable and high-performance memory subsystems.
- Your work will drive advancements in memory controller initialization, training engines, and physical interface layers, impacting Intel's cutting-edge products and technologies. By collaborating with architects, designers, and verification teams, you will ensure robust, innovative solutions that propel Intel's leadership in the memory landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- - Develop firmware to support DDR memory subsystems, including initialization, training, and calibration algorithms, adhering to JEDEC standards.
- - Enable and validate firmware on simulation models to verify functionality, timing, and performance, while identifying and resolving potential issues.
- - Analyze, replicate, root cause, and debug issues in both presilicon and postsi environments.
- - Collaborate with digital and analog architects, as well as RTL designers, to improve verification strategies for complex architectural and microarchitectural features.
- - Conduct requirements gathering, design reviews, code reviews, and testing for memory subsystem implementation.
- - Optimize firmware for performance, reliability, and scalability across diverse memory technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
- - Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering. Electornics Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 8+ years of relevant industry experience in Firmware/BIOS Development, OR Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related with 6+ years of relevant industry experience in Firmware/BIOS Development.
- - Proficiency in C programming for embedded systems and firmware development.
- - Experience with Software (S/W) architecture, design and debugging skills.
- - Familiarity with IP software development and definition.
Preferred Qualifications
- - Knowledge of memory controller architecture, JEDEC standards(DDRx,LPDDRx,HBMx), and diverse memory technologies.
- - Hands-on experience in root cause analysis and debugging in presilicon and/or postsi environments.
- - Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills, working across cross-functional teams.
- - Familiarity with digital and analog environments, simulation models, and system verification.
- - Highly motivated with a strong work ethics
- - Fast learner, able to understand large code bases quickly
- - Ability to work independently.
