Senior Medical Affairs Scientist Dermatology/Endocrinology

About the role
The Sr. Medical Affairs Scientist (Sr. MAS) - eg. Medical Advisor, is the medical scientific subject matter expert for Pfizer on the assigned therapeutic area Dermatology/Endocrinology for HCPs, medical societies, regulators, academia and other external and internal [scientific] stakeholders during the entire life cycle of a Therapeutic Area (TA) product.
The Sr. MAS is responsible for maintaining the highest scientific standards, that is objective, balanced, and compliant in every medical/scientific external activity, as well as in scope with internal processes. The Sr. MAS' customer facing time will be optimized by the platform roles as that is its key responsibility
Main responsibilities
- The Sr. MAS will be responsible to develop strategic partnerships with internal and external key stakeholders during the entire lifecycle of Pfizer Therapeutic Area portfolio
- She/ he provides focused relevant information in response to customer-stated needs in order to maintain a therapeutic leadership position and drive medical scientific needs at the national, regional, and corporate level
- Able to partner with high level scientific KOL's at peer level
- Shape the scientific environment with regards to protocols, guidelines etc.
- Identify clinical scientific opportunities and act on them
- Identify the scientific decision-making units and position Pfizer as trustworthy partner
- Leads medical to medical communications in the field
- Scientific expert for HCPs, Medical Societies, Academia and other relevant key scientific stakeholders
- Acts on national level and is a key member of the cluster medical network
- She/ He will work in a cross-functional, national and international team to maximize the value of Pfizer TA portfolio in country and at regional level
- Provides medical-scientific input to the BUs and co-create company's plans through actionable customers' medical insights
- Plans and executes medical scientific strategic plans, as per TA role
- Stipulates medical strategy and leads X-FT projects with different internal stakeholders.
- Accountable for the TA related medical projects including budget
- She/ He acts according to the high standards of compliance, ethics, and safety of Pfizer products
About you
Basic Qualifications
- master's degree in Life Sciences plus 6 years of relevant work experience in the pharmaceutical environment
- PhD level in Life Sciences plus minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in the pharmaceutical environment
- Relevant work experience is bio-pharmaceutical industry, academic or post graduate experience preferably in TA-related area
- Fluency in local language and in business English [minimal level C1]
Competencies
- Ability to quickly absorb large quantities of scientific information, including critical appraisal of clinical studies and publications and distill key conclusions
- Ability to effectively communicate in-depth scientific knowledge
- Ability to connect and interact with stakeholders with social sensitivity and build sustainable relationships
- Solid understanding of [the process of] drug development
- Demonstrated business acumen, including decision-making and prioritization
Preferred Qualifications
- A PhD/Medical Doctor is considered a plus
- A good understanding of the national and regional health environment including its structure, policy, key members and scientific societies
- In-depth knowledge of the relevant therapy areas: Dermatology/Endocrinology and the medicines in the portfolio and the pipeline
- An understanding of the compliance framework for medical interactions in relation to the applicable regulations, Code of Practice and SOPs is a plus
