Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you've come to the right place!

E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system that will fundamentally change the design, economics, manufacturing and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems.

We're intentional, we're unapologetically curious and we're 100% committed to innovate space-based communications and deliver actionable intelligence that will expand global economies, protect space and our planet and enhance our overall quality of life.

The E-Space Manufacturing team builds the world's most advanced aerospace products at high rate and high precision.

As a Senior Mechanical Systems Designer, you'll design the mechanical systems that make E-Space's automated production lines run - fixtures, frames, motion assemblies, and the hardware that ties automation together. You'll work hands-on in SolidWorks alongside a Staff designer and the broader manufacturing team, owning subsystems end-to-end and bringing them from concept to qualified production hardware. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering leadership team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design mechanical systems and subsystems for automated manufacturing equipment in SolidWorks - parts, assemblies, and production drawings.
  • Develop fixtures, frames, motion stages, and machine structures to meet performance, precision, and cost targets.
  • Apply GD&T and tolerance analysis to ensure manufacturability and reliable assembly.
  • Collaborate with controls, robotics, and process engineers to integrate automation hardware.
  • Create build documentation and support fabrication, assembly, and testing of your designs.
  • Iterate from 3D-printed and machined prototypes to production-ready hardware.
  • Specify mechanical components and interface with vendors.

What you will bring to this role:

  • 5+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience in machinery, automation, or aerospace hardware.
  • Strong SolidWorks skills - assemblies, detailed parts, and drawings.
  • Solid grasp of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and design for manufacturability.
  • Experience taking designs through fabrication, assembly, and test.
  • Ability to work across disciplines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Extra points for the following:

  • Exposure to end-effector / EOAT design.
  • Experience with ABB or Fanuc robotic integration.
  • Background in aerospace, semiconductor, or thin-film manufacturing.
