JOB TITLE: Senior Mechanical Engineer

DUTIES: Work and collaborate across international regions on projects to deliver the highest quality product for GHD clients, ranging from traditional energy to energy transition with Tier 1 and 2 clients across the upstream and midstream Oil and Gas, Chemicals and Petrochemicals, and Utilities industries. Design work including preparation of mechanical engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for green and brownfields facilities. Act as the Mechanical / Piping discipline lead. Project leadership of mechanical and piping design resources to deliver studies and detail design projects. Review and approval of final mechanical equipment selection and drawing submittals on projects. Support proposals and cost estimates for a wide range of small to large projects. Mentor and career development of mechanical engineers and piping designers within the team. Utilize time management techniques to organize and prioritize workload and identification of needs for external support. Meet with clients to represent GHD’s technical capabilities. Domestic (U.S.) travel is required up to 15% to travel to client sites
REQUIREMENTS: Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and ten (10) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a Senior Mechanical Engineer-related occupation. Position requires: Demonstrable understanding and experience applying various ASME codes and API standards in the design of process equipment and piping relevant to this work; Demonstrable experience preparing mechanical, piping engineering and drawings for oil and gas industry, industrial clients, and water/wastewater projects; Demonstrable experience conducting pipe stress analysis on piping system utilizing CAESAR II software; Demonstrable experience preparing hydraulic, transient and stress analyses of critical piping systems; Demonstrable experience coordinating / reviewing Pipe Stress Analysis results and pipe support design; Demonstrable experience with pipe stress analysis and incorporating pipe support designs into 3D models and project documents; Demonstrable experience coordinating / reviewing Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) with electrical and controls to provide complete control package; Demonstrable experience preparing / reviewing mechanical engineering calculations, mechanical specifications, data sheets, requisitions for equipment, materials, and subcontracts. Domestic (U.S.) travel is required up to 15% to travel to client sites
