Neogen is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of new commercial laboratory equipment in the Food Safety Testing Market. This role includes development of new customer solutions while working with product managers, application specialists, and customers to bring innovative solutions to market.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of state-of-the-art hardware products for use in the Food Safety market globally
- Contribute to the technology roadmap and strategic plan for electromechanical systems technologies and hardware platforms
- Lead development projects with a combination of internal, third-party, and offshore development teams
- Resolve design issues associated with continuing engineering support and manufacturing
Qualifications:
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Neogen is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering and minimum three (3) years of mechanical design engineering development experience
- Experience using Solidworks CAD software, including design of complex parts, assemblies, BOM management, and design integration into Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
- Experience in rapid prototyping tools including 3D Printing and short run prototype tooling
- Experience with injection molding design for both large and small, high volume consumables parts
- Experience developing commercial laboratory equipment
- Experience working with instrument contract manufacturers to scale up new products to full production
- Established track record of working in all stages of global product development from prototype to successful commercial product launch
