Summary 

A Senior Mechanical Engineering position with a global leader in the fast-growing Oil & Gas Energy industry. We are seeking and energetic and self-motivated engineer who enjoys a dynamic and diverse work environment. Typical responsibilities for this position include:

 Job Duties

• Design, develop, modify and test new and current projects.
• Products to be designed/specified include pressure vessels, fluid piping, sheet metal, machined components, seals, electronic sensors, structural frames and more.
• Generate engineering drawings, product specifications, test procedures, work instructions, product manuals, and bills of materials.
• Prepare, execute and process ECO’s.
• Participate in research and development, design reviews, failure mode effect analysis, MRB, value engineering, validation testing, etc.
• Provide technical support to other departments within the organization.
• Create design and analysis tools such as spreadsheet calculators and forms that can be used across the business.
• A strong emphasis on high accuracy and best practices in measurement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required:

• Minimum of 4 year bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field of study with practical experience (BSME, MSME)
• Process standard to complex orders (i.e. specialized piping, special accessory kits, extreme temperature i.e. high & cryogenic).
• Ability to generate engineering drawings, product specs, test procedures, work instructions, and BOMs.
• Participate and be a key contributor/driver in R&D projects (i.e. design and analysis, using tools such as DFMEA, CAD and FEA)
• Analytical problem-solving skills with a strong understanding of physical principles such as mechanics of materials and fluid dynamics.
• Proficiency in parametric CAD software.
• Manage projects of medium to high complexity, communicate risk and propose multiple alternate solutions, execute to best preserve project goals.
• Review components for defects/trends, identify systemic root causes, and implement process improvements.
• Broad knowledge of drafting standards and GD&T, perform multi component tolerance stack analysis, compound control frames, etc.
• Apply API standards to prover design and use, as well as other measurement related activities (i.e., density and sampling)
• Apply ASME, BPVC, and B31.3 standards as they apply to prover pressure piping design and capable of making complex changes.
• Serve as mechanical design SME in proposal prep, internal design, and customer reviews.
• Able to work in a manufacturing and office setting.
• Occasional business-related travel required (1-2 domestic trips/year possible).

Preferred:

• Experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.
• Hazardous area classifications NEC, CSA, ATEX & IECEX as well as familiarity with electrical standards.
• Customer Service and Sales Support Experience.
• Project management experience.
• Advanced SolidWorks experience (CSWP)
• Solidworks PDM administration.
• Direct R&D, Design, and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of applicable engineering specifications, codes and standards.
• Registered PE in good standing.
