The Senior Mechanical Engineer for this role will provide leadership and creativity in the design, development, start-up, optimization and ongoing support of OEE improvement initiatives and projects. Candidates must have expertise across multiple technologies and will have a demonstrated ability to effectively provide specific project work direction to a broad range of team members. The incumbent reports to the Tissue Manufacturing AO Engineering Team Leader and receives direction in the form of general project and asset objectives.
Responsibilities:

Safety: Carry out job responsibilities in a safe manner. Ensure equipment and processes meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance and other personnel.

Design and Development: Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation, design, development and optimization of manufacturing/converting and supporting processes, and mentors others in the application of project tools (Project management, Capital systems, SAP)

Technical Knowledge: Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and functional leadership in application of engineering principles and/or scientific analysis. Provide advice and counsel sought by others.

Security and Documentation: Provide leadership and coaches team members on written and oral communication skills

Problem Solving: Lead resolution of problems for multiple forms of processes and equipment. Provide Engineering solutions through modifications/upgrades to resolve operational / process problems to continuously improve the manufacturing process robustness

Internal Control: Lead assigned projects/tasks to meet unit objectives within applicable Corporate policies. Place emphasis on CFI and Internal Control.

Communications: Communicate fully with superiors, subordinates and others who have need to know. Be informative without being obtrusive or vexatious. Communicate in a way that is timely, yet prompt; complete, yet concise; candid, yet accurate; and clear, yet responsive.

Human Resources: Mentor and provide work direction for other engineers to deliver business results while demonstrating an understanding of those with a diverse background or experience. Demonstrate consistent role modeling, growth and coaching of One K-C Behaviors. Candidate will serve as the Tissue Manufacturing AO Mechanical Engineering Group Leader, providing technical coaching to other mechanical engineers in the team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university and 8-12 years of experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments.

A recognized subject matter expert in manufacturing and converting mechanical systems with a demonstrated ability to translate that knowledge into execution of process and capacity improvements in major capital and empty wallet projects.

A demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve project results within required timeframes.

Experience coaching other engineers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
12+ years of experience in a variety of plant and staff assignments, including maintenance and operations.

Experience and expertise with Kimberly-Clark Family Care engineering technology, procedures, processes and products.
-
SME in mechanical systems. Strong experience in vibration analysis, burner systems, and winding technology.

Experience working with external technical service providers.
-
Evidence of continuing self-development.
