Areas of Focus
Develop new designs, assess new technologies, make design improvements to existing battery designs, and push existing technology and manufacturing methodology for development of next generation battery packs.
Responsibilities
- Work with designers to develop new product concepts
- Create, check, and approve 3D models and drawings
- Collaborate closely with suppliers to develop cost effective parts
- Complete design cycles from concepts to fully validated production designs
- Develop and fabricate functional prototypes and test methods to validate new concepts
- Conduct and assess analysis of product designs
- Communicate project progress to management
Basic Qualifications
Demonstrated successful experience in mechanical engineering from concept through production release with a focus on Design for manufacturing. Experience with a wide range of materials (ceramics, metals, plastics, etc.)
A detail-oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills
- Proficient in CAD modeling, preferably SolidWorks.
- Experience with various manufacturing processes including:
- Plastic injection molding
- Metal forming
- Welding/brazing
- Plating
BS degree in EE/ME or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- MS degree in Engineering field
- ERP experience- Moldflow experience
- Cable/Harness experience
- FEA experience
- PMP experience
- Electromechanical experience
- Lithium – ion experience
