Location Type: The position is onsite in Nashville, TN.

Travel Requirements: Travel up to 20%. Travel may include domestic and/or international customer, supplier, and JR Automation locations.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Develops deep knowledge and skills in a specific practice area
  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features
  • Collaboratively uses judgement to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments
  • Works on small projects or portions of larger projects
  • May review the technical output of team members
  • Influences team and department decisions
  • Disciplined lead and contributor to facilitate successful projects
  • Possesses above average oral and written communication skills
  • Represents the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments

  • Recognizes and implements significant design and workflow improvements

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline, or an associate’s degree (2-year) with experience from accredited program (ABET/EAC)
  • 5+ years’ work experience as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Experienced with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD)
  • Proficient in the application of standard and advanced engineering principles, practices, and procedures
  • Has sufficient knowledge to supervise others
  • Breadth and depth of experience to enterprise engineering problems
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish tasks
  • Able to quickly recognize and fix common engineering problems based on experience, including review and critique of others' work
  • Able to lead discipline specific teams and influence project direction and progress
  • Viewed as a technical expert in the department
  • May serve as a mentor/coach for developing engineers
  • Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred
  • Travel required up to 20% including overnight and international

Skills Required
