Job Summary:
The Senior Engineer position is responsible for independently delivering engineering services, from conceptual design through construction completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Expert in project planning, coordination, and execution, managing time effectively to meet project schedules and task deadlines.
  • Independently complete conceptual design through construction drawing development for large complex projects or multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Create conceptual designs certified to Building Codes, Energy Codes, and LEED standards, while conducting economic and energy analyses.
  • Responsible for calculations, design and layout of equipment, and duct and piping systems on assigned projects.
  • Utilize extensive experience in applications engineering including psychrometrics, refrigeration, acoustics, and controls systems, alongside a strong understanding of engineering standards and project execution processes.
  • Responsible for the quality of HVAC design drawings and models across all assigned projects.
  • Proactively communicate and coordinate project designs with Project Management, Construction and Service departments, Controls, and other trade partners.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with colleagues and project team members, ensuring appropriate engagement of engineering applications and/or managers in project decisions.
  • Assist with project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management, and problem solving/troubleshooting, for field engineers.
  • Oversee other design team members to complete project assignments when requested by Manager, and perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements (Work Experience, Skills, Licenses, etc.): 

  • Excellent understanding of engineering and HVAC design fundamentals
  • Thorough understanding of HVAC systems and applications
  • Excellent familiarity with Building Codes and industry standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit

Education and Experience: 

Required: 

  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 8+ years of experience with a Design/Build Mechanical Contractor or HVAC consultant

Desired: 

  • Professional Engineer license

Travel Requirements:

Travel required 5-10% of the time to other office locations.

Hours:

This is a non-exempt position from Monday through Friday. Work hours begin and end between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm with a one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks. Eight hours per day is required and other occasional overtime may be necessary for business needs

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

  • Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch. 

Competitive Wages:
$50 to $72 per hour. Applicants please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
