Senior Mechanical Engineer
Vertiv are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Zagreb, Croatia! The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work in Product Engineering designing modular buildings and mechanical constructions, perform calculations and selection of materials in accordance with highest standards and demanding requests of product development. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will develop mechanical design of modular buildings and constructions (medium to high complexity products and concepts), performing FEM calculations, optimization and selection of materials for product development. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will communicate with all team members via conference calls, participation on engineering meetings with equipment suppliers, developing new skills and knowledge through internal and external education and sometimes travels on meetings. Integration of new concepts, new technologies and new materials in product design.
What kind of work will you be doing?
- Developing of product conceptual and detailed design
- Based on input data (information, requirements, standards), development of mechanical product documentation: mechanical strength analysis, part and assembly drawings, detail drawings, descriptions, instructions, material submittals, presentations and marketing materials etc.
- During design follow and take into consideration international, national and company standards and good engineering practices
- Use knowledge and experience to fulfill requirements given for product development tasks
- Proactive cooperation with all team members during product development
- Development of defined documents according to Document list (DLIST)
- Development of workshop documentation for mechanical assemblies
- Verification and approval of workshop documentation developed by subcontractors
- Specifying Bill of Material and services required for product development
- Specification of necessary certificates and delivery dates for materials needed to be ordered
- Supporting suppliers with additional information during bidding phase of sourcing (offer submitting)
- Providing technical approval for received supplier offers
- Providing technical support to subcontractors and installers during production/assembly
- Cooperation with Manufacturing and Site deployment engineering team
- Cooperation with Site Manager during assembly, providing technical solutions to raised issues
- Cooperation with Quality Control during quality control of components/systems and assembly on Site
- Cooperation with Commissioning engineer on testing documentation development
- Participation on internal testing and FAT
- Performing calculations for optimal components/materials selection
- Analyzing application of new components/materials and technologies
- Structural optimization
- Work at height
- Lifting platform handling
- Handling of rotary (e.g. drill) and hand tools
Qualifications:
- Master of Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant technical experience
- Software – AutoCAD, MS Office, Inventor, optional 3D modeling software (Solidworks, CREO or CATIA)
- Other skills – independent, attention to details, problem solving, organization, creativity, teamwork
