Job Summary:
Our client, a global manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and continuous improvement of advanced mechanical and electro-mechanical products within an innovative, cross-functional engineering environment.
This role will be responsible for mechanical design activities across both New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining engineering projects, ensuring product performance, quality, manufacturability, cost effectiveness, and schedule alignment. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will serve as a key technical contributor, supporting engineering changes, design reviews, product documentation, validation activities, and collaboration with global teams, suppliers, and manufacturing sites.
The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience in mechanical product design, SolidWorks, GD&T, ECR/ECO processes, electro-mechanical assemblies, and structured engineering documentation. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-driven engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, improving existing products, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to innovation within an international manufacturing environment.

Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing, or a related field.
• GD&T certification is preferred.
• Six Sigma and/or PMP certification is a plus.

Requirements:
• 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, sustaining engineering, or related technical roles.
• Strong proficiency with SolidWorks for part design, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
• Proven experience supporting mechanical products across the full product lifecycle, including NPI and sustaining projects.
• Hands-on experience managing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Experience participating in Change Control Boards (CCB) or structured engineering governance processes.
• Strong background in mechanical design for industrial, engineered, or electro-mechanical products.
• Experience designing mechanical products that integrate internal electronics such as PCBs, connectors, cabling, or thermal considerations.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering documentation.
• Experience supporting design reviews, validation activities, prototype builds, supplier interactions, and root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with ERP or PLM systems such as SAP, ECTR, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Experience with FMEA, reliability analysis, or risk-based design evaluation is preferred.
• Active and valid visa required due to business travel.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support global teams, suppliers, manufacturing sites, design reviews, validation activities, or project requirements.
• Strong English proficiency, both written and verbal.

Knowledge:
• Mechanical product design and development methodologies.
• SolidWorks modeling, assemblies, drawings, and design documentation.
• GD&T principles and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability concepts.
• Product lifecycle management, including NPI and sustaining engineering practices.
• Engineering Change Management, including ECR, ECO, impact analysis, validation, and implementation.
• Change Control Board participation and structured design approval processes.
• Engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, design records, and technical documentation.
• Electro-mechanical system integration, including PCBs, connectors, cabling, packaging, and thermal considerations.
• Root cause analysis, technical problem-solving, FMEA, and reliability methodologies.
• Supplier and manufacturing support related to mechanical components and assemblies.
• Hazardous area classifications and explosion-proof standards are a plus.

Competencies:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong technical judgment and design integrity mindset.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly.
• Ability to influence stakeholders through data, technical reasoning, and practical solutions.
• Collaborative mindset with strong cross-functional engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across NPI and sustaining activities.
• Innovative thinking and ability to challenge assumptions constructively.
• Mentoring mindset with the ability to support and develop junior engineers.
• Strong execution discipline and commitment to quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Responsibilities:
• Design mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks, ensuring compliance with functional, regulatory, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
• Support both New Product Introduction and sustaining engineering projects, balancing priorities across product development and continuous improvement activities.
• Act as a key mechanical contributor in Change Control Boards, reviewing and approving Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Orders as needed.
• Execute engineering changes, including technical documentation, design impact analysis, validation planning, and implementation support.
• Take ownership of mechanical design integrity by ensuring designs meet product requirements, engineering standards, manufacturability expectations, and quality objectives.
• Lead or actively participate in mechanical design reviews, technical discussions, and closure of engineering action items.
• Create, review, and maintain complete engineering documentation, including 3D models, drawings, BOMs, GD&T, specifications, and design records.
• Collaborate closely with Electrical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and supplier teams to ensure robust product integration.
