Due to continued growth and project wins, we are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Industrial to join our Perth team, supporting the delivery of multidisciplinary projects across Australia.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key technical and leadership role in the delivery of mechanical engineering design across a diverse portfolio of industrial projects. You will function as a technical authority within the discipline, providing design leadership, oversight, and governance while supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers and designers.
Your experience will span detailed mechanical and piping design within industries such as process, mining, water, and heavy industrial infrastructure. Projects will range from concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction support.
This role offers the opportunity to apply sound engineering judgement, influence design outcomes, and deliver safe, practical, and innovative solutions in challenging operating environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver mechanical engineering design across industrial projects, providing technical direction and discipline leadership
- Act as a technical authority for mechanical and piping design, ensuring engineering quality, compliance, and fitness for purpose
- Plan, coordinate, and undertake complex engineering tasks across multiple projects or work packages
- Prepare, review, and approve mechanical designs, calculations, specifications, reports, and engineering deliverables
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical support to engineers, designers, and drafters
- Review and verify design calculations and drawings, including independent checking and design assurance
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including process, piping, electrical, and civil disciplines
- Consult with clients, OEMs, suppliers, statutory authorities, and other stakeholders as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes, standards, and engineering procedures
- Operate in accordance with the company’s quality management system and engineering governance frameworks
Skills & Experience Required:
- Accredited Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status, or eligibility to obtain
- Significant post graduate experience in mechanical engineering design within industrial sectors
- Demonstrated experience leading mechanical design on multidisciplinary projects
- Strong understanding of Australian standards, codes, and industry practices
- Proven experience preparing and checking engineering calculations using manual methods and industry standard software
- Practical experience with mechanical and piping design tools, such as AutoCAD / Plant 3D, E3D, Caesar II, AFT (or equivalent packages)
- Experience working with OEMs on equipment selection, specification, and integration into plant designs
- Ability to manage work to scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining high engineering quality
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and project stakeholders
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to team capability development
Security & Eligibility Requirements:
- Australian Citizenship preferred, with the ability to obtain Defence clearance would be look upon favourably.
