Job Overview
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for mechanical design and configuration hence to support project meeting targeted product quality, time to market and cost.
This position reports to the Shanghai R&D Department Lead and will be located in Shanghai.
Responsibilities
- Fully understand the required product mechanical portion features, application and performance.
- Develop products and present the design concept for customers.
- Engineering analysis includes structure strength and integrity, reliability, efficiency, material specification, design for manufacturing.
- Work with other teams on supplier development, prototyping, mechanical related testing and qualification, DFM to make the project move smoothly.
- Thermal design, analysis and optimization including fan choice; heat sink design; thermal simulation and trouble shooting.
- Customer RFQ evaluation and project design review.
- Maintain and update the design guideline/checklist with US team.
Basic Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering major, MS is preferred.
- Must be self-motivated and be able to communicate well with all levels. Can work under pressure and meet the project target. Has good project management skills to lead projects independently.
- At least 3 years’ experience in the physical design of Power related products, thermal simulation and modeling tools
- Good understanding of Telecom Power, Data center Systems
- Skillful in use of mechanical with Pro/E, thermal analysis with Icepak, and structural analysis with FEM ANSYS or Pro/Mechanical, good knowledge of design to meet the global safety and EMC requirement
- Good knowledge of DFM, both in mechanical and layout
- Research the new technology/process and take leader in the team design capability improvement
- Familiar with product cost structure, able to minimize the parts cost during design.
- Good communication skill in both English and Chinese.
