How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Collaborate with the ME project lead to write technical specifications including performance and runoff criteria for engineered systems.
- Interface with suppliers regarding system requirements, engineering changes, final deliverables, system acceptance and system setup
- Travel to supplier facilities for system acceptance testing required
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features
- Collaboratively uses judgement to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments
- May review the technical output of team members
- Influences team and department decisions
- Possesses above average oral and written communication skills
- Works under minimum supervision
- Exercises independent judgment, innovates, and works autonomously
- Works with the project team across disciplines to identify root cause and corrective action during machine debug
- Travel required up to 20% to visit customer sites, supplier sites, installation of equipment & other JR locations. Trips vary from overnight trips to international supplier and customer sites.

What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline, or an associate’s degree (2-year) with experience from accredited program (ABET/EAC)
- 5+ years’ work experience as a Mechanical Engineer
- Experienced with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo)
- Proficient in the application of standard and advanced engineering principles, practices, and procedures
- Proficient in writing technical specifications and runoff requirements for suppliers
- Has sufficient knowledge to supervise others
- Breadth and depth of experience to enterprise engineering problems
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish tasks
- Able to quickly recognize and fix common engineering problems based on experience
- Viewed as a technical expert in the department
- Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred
