Description

Join a Leader in Aerospace & Defense Engineering

Auto-Valve, Incorporated (AVI) is a world leader in aerospace and defense valve technology, with more than 1,400 active valve designs in production. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to help develop, improve, and support mission-critical fluid-control products.

This is a highly hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys taking products from concept and design through prototype, testing, qualification, and production. The ideal candidate has aerospace and/or defense experience, a strong mechanical design background, and experience designing complex assemblies made up of small, precision components.

This position also offers significant career growth, with the potential to advance into an Engineering Director role within 1–3 years.

What You'll Do
  • Design and develop aerospace and defense valves and fluid-control products.
  • Create 3D models, engineering drawings, and design documentation using SolidWorks or comparable CAD software.
  • Design mechanical assemblies consisting of multiple small, precision components.
  • Perform and support stress, flow, thermal, FEA, and CFD analysis as applicable.
  • Build and test prototypes and troubleshoot design and performance issues.
  • Develop test plans, fixtures, and equipment for acceptance and qualification testing.
  • Support products from concept through testing, qualification, production, and sustaining engineering.
  • Improve existing products for performance, manufacturability, quality, reliability, and cost.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Quality to resolve technical and production challenges.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects and provide technical leadership and mentoring.

Preferred Experience

Experience with aerospace valves, Mil-Spec products, electro-mechanical design, NPI, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), FEA/CFD, NI LabVIEW, data acquisition, qualification testing, or engineering leadership is a plus.

Why Auto-Valve?

AVI offers a collaborative, hands-on engineering environment where you can directly influence product design and development. We provide a flexible work schedule, career advancement opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and company-matching 401(k).

This position is on-site northwest of Dayton, Ohio. Some relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate outside of Ohio.

Due to the nature of our aerospace and defense work, applicants must be U.S. citizens. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
