Department OverviewStrategic Inventory Organization
Job Description
-Key responsibility is to drive team business decisions with urgency to resolve LTB inventory related issues.
-Works closely with engineering, category management, and product business teams to reach optimal business decisions.
-Compiling and managing large data sets in a complex materials and fast pace technical environment is critical to success.
-This position requires a passion for execution excellence, and must be able to communicate to all levels of the organization.
Additional Details:
- Financial Management: Oversee and manage approximately $20 million in long-term buying (LTB) excess and obsolescence (E&O) reserves. This includes meticulous tracking, analysis, and strategic deployment of these reserves to minimize financial impact and optimize inventory health.
- Multi-Site Coordination: Effectively collaborate and manage inventory strategies across multiple sites, ensuring consistent practices and achieving inventory goals across diverse operational environments.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Spearhead and lead change initiatives by collaborating with key stakeholders across various departments, including Design Engineering (DE), Product Management (PdM), and Supply Chain. This involves driving process improvements and implementing new strategies for inventory optimization.
- Inventory Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of inventory ownership models, including those relevant to Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) providers and Motorola Solutions Inc. (MSI) specific inventory processes.
- Innovative Solutions: Develop and implement creative ideas and strategies to achieve tangible inventory results, specifically focusing on meeting corporate objectives for E&O reduction. This involves identifying root causes, proposing innovative solutions, and driving their execution.
- Reporting and Analysis: Maintain consistency in updating quarterly cadence reports, providing accurate and insightful analysis of inventory performance, E&O trends, and the effectiveness of implemented strategies. This also includes preparing detailed presentations for management reviews.

Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant materials knowledge and experience required
- Ability to drive urgency within a cross-functional team
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Proven Excel skills, plus ability to create charts, graphs, and presentations
- Excellent written and clear verbal communication skills
- Experience developing a business decision based on analytics High level of curiosity and creative thinker preferred
- Develop and maintain process documentation
