About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Master Production Scheduler to oversee and optimize production planning across a multi-site manufacturing network, currently operating in two locations with anticipated expansion over the next two years. This role is crucial to driving the efficiency and reliability of our supply chain, ensuring alignment between demand and production capacity while maintaining superior service levels.

As a senior role reporting directly to the Head of Manufacturing, the Master Production Scheduler will be responsible for creating, managing, and optimizing production schedules that meet customer requirements, maximize operational efficiency, and ensure effective resource utilization. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analysis, SQL, and finite scheduling tools, along with strong communication and leadership skills necessary to drive alignment across the organization. Exposure to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and an understanding of MES data structures are critical for leveraging production data to build accurate capacity and turnaround time models.

What You'll Do

  • Master Scheduling: Develop, implement, and manage a master production schedule across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with sales forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacities.

  • Capacity Planning: Evaluate plant production capacities and work with cross-functional teams to adjust plans to avoid bottlenecks and maximize efficiency.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Use data-driven methods and tools (including SQL) to analyze production and capacity trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and generate actionable insights for senior management.

  • MES Data Utilization: Leverage MES data to develop capacity and turnaround time models that improve scheduling accuracy and responsiveness. Maintain an in-depth understanding of MES data structures to ensure accurate interpretation and use of production data.

  • Resource Management: Ensure that labor, materials, and equipment resources are optimized to meet production schedules effectively while managing any potential resource constraints.

  • Inventory Management: Coordinate closely with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure inventory availability aligns with production requirements and minimizes excess stock.

  • Finite Scheduling: Apply finite scheduling principles to optimize daily and weekly production plans and provide the best possible customer delivery commitments.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements within the scheduling function by implementing best practices, new tools, and lean methodologies.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Partner with Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to provide transparency into production schedules and effectively communicate any changes or updates to stakeholders.

  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential scheduling conflicts or capacity issues and proactively develop solutions or contingency plans.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in production scheduling, planning, or related supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CPIM) are a plus.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and scheduling software, including Excel, ERP/MRP systems, and SQL. Experience with finite scheduling and lean manufacturing principles.

  • MES Experience: Exposure to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and a strong understanding of MES data structures, with the ability to leverage MES data to build capacity and turnaround time models.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong data management and analysis skills, with experience using data to make strategic scheduling decisions and improve processes.

  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to influence and engage cross-functional teams, particularly within multi-site manufacturing environments.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify scheduling challenges proactively, develop innovative solutions, and make timely, well-informed decisions.

  • Adaptability: Capable of working in a dynamic environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changes as the manufacturing network expands.
