The Clearing Risk Quantitative Development Team is a small team of developers with a range of technical and quantitative skills. We are responsible for developing and maintaining software tools and applications to quantify, evaluate and monitor the clearing risks faced by ASX Central Counterparties. We work closely with Quantitative Analysts, Risk Control, Data Analytics and Model Validation to accurately capture and understand complex mathematical models, algorithms and reporting requirements as robust software solutions.
Your responsibilities
Design, implement and test proprietary software solutions for credit and liquidity stress testing, margining calculations and reporting in C#.
Implement or productionise numerical models and tools for managing clearing risk at ASX, using a variety of scripting and development frameworks – SQL, Python, C#, powershell etc.
Use your financial markets experience to contribute to planning and specification of models and tools.
Apply best practice code design principles to continuously improve and refactor existing tools, applications, processes and deployment frameworks
Design and implement rigorous automated and manual testing – unit, regression and integration tests.
Synthesise and communicate complex requirements from quantitative models and translate these into structured, testable, maintainable software solutions.
Contribute to maintenance and production support of existing models, tools and scripts.
Work across the entire software development lifecycle from gathering requirements to planning, coding, testing, deployment and maintenance.
Write and maintain documentation on new and existing tools and applications.
Your experience and qualifications
Must have
Extensive experience in .Net/C# (or similar language) application development with an understanding of design patterns
Deep understanding of ASX’s exchange traded products and OTC interest rate derivative products, derivatives pricing and financial market conventions. In particular, lifecycle, pricing and risk management.
5+ years’ developer experience in banking/finance, market risk or related environment.
10+ commercial development experience
Strong Communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team
Experience with enterprise‑grade CI/CD pipelines and tooling.
Ability to write and maintain technical documentation.
Nice to have
Tertiary qualifications in a quantitative discipline, such as computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or quantitative finance.
Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau.
Experienced in designing, developing, and integrating HTTP‑based APIs.
Experience in data remediation and control improvements.
Advanced SQL skills with hands‑on experience across query design, data manipulation, and troubleshooting
Hands‑on experience working with AWS services for process and data integration, including Airflow, Apache Iceberg, Athena, and Kafka.
