The Role

About us

Dyson is growing fast, and our ambition is huge – more categories, more locations, and more people. Our technology is unique and complex, so it’s up to us to explain it clearly. Working in-house, directly with engineers and the broader business, we create inspirational communications that showcase our technology.

Our commercial strategies should launch our pioneering technologies and explain why they are better as simply and clearly as possible. We create customer and owner experiences that are authentic and uniquely Dyson.

About the role

At Dyson, we're passionate about reshaping the future through technology and innovation. We're on the lookout for a dynamic Senior Marketplace Manager to join our team in Cologne, with a specific focus on the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). This is a pivotal role responsible for driving our marketplace strategy and ensuring the growth and success of Dyson's presence on various e-commerce platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take complete accountability for the DACH marketplace accounts' profit and loss, ensuring financial targets are met and exceeded.
  • Define and drive the strategy, pace, and processes necessary to foster significant growth within the DACH marketplace landscape.
  • Meet and surpass online sales performance targets for marketplace accounts, providing comprehensive visibility and insightful storytelling to DACH & EMEA leadership.
  • Lead the annual negotiation cycle with key partners, seeking opportunities that add value to our operations and partnerships.
  • Constantly scan the market for emerging e-commerce players, engaging in discussions to assess their potential and alignment with Dyson's goals.
  • Coordinate the launch of new marketplaces, navigating a complex matrix involving supply chain, finance, IT, customer services, marketing, and external agencies.
  • Cultivate and sustain robust relationships both internally and externally to maximize return on investment.
  • Oversee trading operations, including stock administration, sell-out management, forecasting, and volume planning for all marketplaces.
  • Manage onsite and offsite media tasks, covering retail media, live shopping events, and newsletter marketing campaigns.
  • Enhance the Dyson Direct platform's excellence, understanding shopper journeys through thorough analytics, exceptional merchandising processes, and testing innovative propositions.
  • Lead and develop a team of five account managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

This role involves taking full ownership of marketplace accounts and financial outcomes while strategically driving growth and improving online sales performance.

This role is ideal for someone with a strategic mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for e-commerce. If you are driven by results, thrive in dynamic settings, and are ready to make a significant impact, we invite you to join Dyson in revolutionising the marketplace experience in the DACH region.

About You

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for E-Commerce, possess strong commercial and financial acumen, and have the capability to work independently in a hands-on environment. Our Senior Marketplace Manager should be a proactive, high-energy individual who enjoys the fast-paced and ever-evolving nature of our industry.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in business, economics, marketing, IT, or an analytical environment with a minimum of 5 years' experience in E-Commerce, ideally with premium branded products/retail.
  • Solid knowledge and execution of retail media/SEO, PPC, CMS, Google Analytics, social media, and email marketing, coupled with previous experience in managing marketplaces and/or affiliates.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in people management, showcasing strong leadership, and team development skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities to guide business strategy decisions with close attention to detail.
  • Excellent storytelling capability and strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable, with high energy levels and the ability to quickly integrate into a new organization.
  • Passion for E-Commerce and relevant market knowledge, demonstrating a dynamic and collaborative personality with a hands-on mentality.

At Dyson we are focused on solving the problems that others have ignored; solving them first using our technology and ingenuity. In order to achieve this we need to pioneer technologies that are different and authentic. This is the core of what we do and who we are. We must strive to create the future, every single day by developing new things, different things, things that go against the grain with a diverse and global team of ingenious minds. Dyson employs over 14,000 people and is present in more than 80 countries. And while we are growing fast we want Dyson to remain a start-up in spirit with the freedom of experimentation and learning, constantly reinventing our products as well as reinventing how we work, how we sell and how we support our owners. At the same time we are working through the James Dyson Foundation, James Dyson Award and Dyson Institute to inspire future engineers and pioneering a new approach to engineering education.
