Compensation Range
Hourly: $29.90 - $39.90 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)About This Job
The main purpose of this job is to work cross-functionally to plan and execute strategic events throughout Commerce Bank’s footprint and beyond. These events, along with their supporting activations, help deepen relationships while driving B2B customer acquisition, consideration and retention.
The Commercial Marketing Specialist Senior works cross-functionally to plan and execute strategic events throughout Commerce Bank’s footprint and beyond. These events, along with their supporting activations, help deepen relationships while driving B2B customer acquisition, consideration and retention. Working on behalf of the Commerce Bank, CommerceHealthcare® and CommercePayments® brands, the Marketing Specialist Senior will be responsible for managing all facets of these events, including but not limited to:
Budgeting
Strategic planning (pre/during/post-event activations)
Kitting and fulfillment
Assets and deliverables
Obtaining stakeholder alignment
SLA evaluation and implementation
Vendor negotiations
Experiential components (venue, menu, entertainment)
Tracking post-event ROI
This role reports to the Commercial PR & Strategic Events Manager. The individual works closely in collaboration with team members from across the Commercial and Corporate Marketing organizations, as well as with senior line-of-business leaders. The Marketing Specialist Senior must be a self-starter who operates independently and can effectively communicate with and influence executives, C-Suite-level leaders and third-party partners.
Essential Functions
Build strategic plans to execute events and activations that support Small Business, Commercial, Healthcare, Payments, and Construction lines of business
Manage robust events and activations schedules and frequently provides status reports on recurring basis
Manage and reconcile budgets with minimal supervision while keeping the PR & Strategic Events Manager and the Director of Commercial Marketing actively informed
Lead event initiatives to ensure alignment with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders while meeting deadlines and demonstrating professionalism
Manage vendor relationships, pricing, and negotiations; exercise fiscal discipline to align with budget
Work closely with Sales and Sales Enablement teams to ensure proper post-event tracking to demonstrate meaningful (return on investment) ROI
Lead brainstorming with cross-functional team members to develop concepts for activating audiences in nuanced ways that are on-brand and within budget
Closely collaborate with COIs and third-party strategic partners to help manage relationships, contracts and to ensure alignment
Help cultivate and supports an Agile Marketing work environment
Proactively finds ways to assist team members and streamline processes
Perform other duties as assigned

Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required
6+ years marketing or corporate project management experience required
Experience with planning and executing corporate strategic events required
Salesforce CRM and/or Sharepoint experience preferred
*Hybrid Schedule: In office 3 days per week
