The Opportunity
We are looking to fill a Relationship Management position for our Financial Institution Indirect channel. In 2023, MassMutual Ascend had a record premium year and remain a leader in the Fixed, FIA and RILA annuity market. This position will support and advise our partners, sales force and home office associates in all aspects of the sale of annuity products. The Relationship Management role has a high focus on providing exceptional phone support regarding product features, sales concepts, and doing business with MassMutual Ascend while building and maintaining strong working relationships. We provide a flexible work arrangement for this position and the opportunity for business related travel.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts within our Third Party Wholesaling Groups to support all areas of the annuity business related to sales and service with MassMutual Ascend.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of products, marketing materials, and procedures.
- Respond to inquiries regarding products and administrative processes, including, but not limited to, the sales process.
- Coordinate trainings with external partners to increase awareness of sales and operational workflows, company policies, procedures, and resources.
- Facilitate resolution of basic to complex sales and operational issues through cross-organizational collaboration and communicate results timely and accurately with external partners.
- Work closely with our Third Party Wholesalers to maximize channel sales through email, call campaigns, and marketing campaigns.
- Assist in the development of product proposals and illustrations for partners; maintain illustration software most up to date with product rates and features.
- Provide feedback on process/service enhancements and sales ideas that would encourage channel growth
- Promote legal compliance and market conduct standards established by MassMutual Ascend.
- Stay in tune with competition and their offerings as well as up to date on industry specific knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications
- Life and Health Agent License and Series 6 or 7 are required.
- 3-5 years of experience in marketing and sales, preferably in the insurance industry
- Effective telemarketing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentation skills).
- Must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment and multi-task projects.
- Knowledge of securities and insurance products, specifically annuities
- Creative problem-solving skills; able to effectively coordinate projects independently.
Ideal Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred with a focus in Business or Marketing.
- Professional designations such as CLU, CFP, ChFC, RICP or other through The American College or LOMA
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and experience with various insurance/annuity administration systems. Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
