Position Overview

The Senior Marketing Manager - Shark Robots will lead cross-functional teams to develop and manage global marketing/commercialization strategies for the Robots category that will drive profitable and sustainable growth for the business.  This role will contribute effectively to the development of product roadmap and assortment strategy, help shape the marketing plan development, and ensure excellence of execution in market. The right individual will have a collaborative working style, a strong sense of ownership, autonomy, and personal responsibility, and the desire to defy expectations to create the impossible possible!
Roles and Areas of Responsibility

  • Be the category expert: understand price, positioning, competitive landscape and market needs. Digest insights, connect the dots, summarize conclusions, and recommend a comprehensive product assortment and roadmap that will drive a high rate of sale.


  • Manage the Robot Category Portfolio, from introduction to end-of-life of the product, prioritizing the audience and various retail segments.
  • Robot Category Portfolio into new channels and new markets globally, maximizing sales and driving profitability.
  • Develop category/brand positioning strategies, portfolio architecture, product concepts, and pricing strategies with the goal of increasing marketability, maximizing sales & achieving profitability.
  • Bring a keen understanding of the consumer goods landscape to analyze key business drivers, competitive trends, direct competitors’ success and strategies, marketplace dynamics & consumer need gaps that lead to disruptive, breakthrough new product propositions.
  • Anticipate obstacles and proactively plan accordingly while effectively elevating issues and strategizing solutions to problems that may arise during commercialization process.
  • Act as subject matter expert on assigned portfolio and customers (channel partners and end users) to drive optimum marketing results.
  • Communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of the products.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to report on performance, insights, and optimizations on a periodic basis to all levels of the organization.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of current marketing strategies and tactics, and make recommendations for changes and improvements.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent (MBA preferred).
  • 5-8 years of Marketing experience depending on degree and type of work experience. 
  • Minimum 5 year of prior Marketing, and/or Category Management experience within consumer-packaged goods.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and cultivate relationships.
  • Experience with financial analysis to make marketing recommendations.
  • Experience leveraging consumer insights to develop effective marketing programs and campaigns.
  • This role sits in our Needham office
