Job DescriptionThe Role
Senior Marketing Manager, Country Media & Planning role is responsible for JobsDB’s annual integrated media planning, in Hong Kong across all online and offline channels in line with Marketing, brand and segments goals and objectives. Having a Country Media lead ensures a single-entry point into media, consistency in planning approach across channels, maintained focus on objectives and delivers more efficient ways of working. This role reports into the Senior Marketing Manager - APAC Media and Planning and works closely with the local Country Digital Lead and with the local Country Marketing team.
Key Responsibilities
Media Strategy and Planning
- Create and execute yearly media strategies that mix online and offline investments to meet both company-wide goals (OKRs) and local market targets.
- Act as the local expert on the media mix, budget allocation, priorities, and optimization across all channels.
- Design and deliver integrated media campaigns and partnerships that directly support business objectives.
- Provide quick, tactical media responses to local market challenges, working closely with regional and country digital leaders.
Performance and Efficiency
- Achieve annual ROI targets and continually improve the efficiency of performance marketing efforts.
- Maximize return on investment (ROI) from all media spending and publisher partnerships through innovation and performance boosts.
- Optimize the overall media budget by adjusting segment spending, continuously refining campaigns, and using insights from Marketing Mix Modeling.
- Drive channel strategy improvement by actively testing and learning from new publishers.
Collaboration and Teamwork
- Build strong relationships with Country Marketing teams to understand their market needs and provide high-value, tailored media support.
- Collaborate across teams (Digital, Search, Brand, Campaigns) to find insights and opportunities for optimization between different channels.
- Establish smooth and clear communication protocols and collaboration frameworks between media and local country marketing teams to speed up decision-making and campaign execution.
Partner and Vendor Management
- Manage agency performance to ensure they meet all contractual key performance indicators (KPIs) for media planning and buying.
- Oversee and improve media deals with key publishers across both offline and online channels.
- Maintain strong relationships with media owners and stay updated on new developments in the media landscape.
Reporting and Measurement
- Deliver clear, executive-level reporting that demonstrates the ROI of all media investments, including analysis of competitor activity.
- Lead the media commentary and reporting for monthly business performance reviews.
- Conduct monthly performance sessions with the local media team to review past results and plan future optimizations.
Media Process and Finance Management
- Own and manage the local market media budget, ensuring funds are optimally allocated to strategic objectives.
- Monitor spending, provide accurate financial forecasts, and adhere strictly to budgetary rules.
- Guide the integrated campaign budget to maximize reach and achieve brand health goals.
- Embed global best practices for media planning and support the rollout of new capabilities, such as the market mix modeling tool and a new agency operating model.
The Team
You will operate within the APAC Media and Planning team, collaborating closely with regional SEM, Digital, and Centre of Excellence specialists who shape the media direction for SEEK ANZ. A key part of the role involves partnering extensively with various stakeholders, including Country Marketing, Strategy, and Integrated Campaigns teams. The role reports directly to the Senior Marketing Manager – APAC Media and Planning and has no direct reports.
Qualifications- 7+ years digital marketing or media buying experience with a high level of competency across all media with specific hands-on experience in traditional media, and understanding of media trends
- Experience creating, managing & optimising integrated media campaigns for large brands with sizeable budgets - agency-side a bonus
- Ability to analyse media and audience performance, generating insights and actions from available data sources
- Strong judgement and decision-making capabilities, with a willingness to test, learn, and pivot when needed
- Outcome-focused, with a keen eye for detail and creative flair to grow
- Experience managing external agency partners/vendors and evaluating capabilities and proposals
- Confidence in communicating and influencing a variety of stakeholders, being able to effectively explain the complex media landscape in a way both internal and external audiences understand.
