Role Summary:
The Senior Data Analyst, Market Intelligence is responsible for building data models, managing collected data, and creating appealing visuals and dashboards that will drive business strategy. The analyst works with large amounts of data to create appealing market analytics, reports, newsletters, and presentations. The analyst also updates and maintains a market research repository working with a wide range of personnel across functions. Analyses are quantitative and qualitative focused on industry, marketing, product, and competitor analysis. This position will report to the Global Market Intelligence Manager under the Finance organization.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
1. Build and update annual market forecast model
- Gather market outlook data for various industries, regions, & products to develop a market forecast tailored to Flowserve’s business
- Develop, maintain, and analyze large structured data sets using advanced analysis techniques in Excel, PowerBI, SQL, or other tools to build market forecast model
- Develop and maintain appealing PowerBI analytical dashboard and Excel data visuals (qualitative, quantitative, and graphical visuals) to distribute market forecast to the broader organization
- Communicate deep understanding of market dynamics and trends based on analyses
2. Develop and maintain market research repository
- Build and maintain a Market Research Library that houses all internal market intelligence potentially leveraging smart searches, analytics, and AI to create the best user experience
- Adopt and implement standard analysis tools and assessment models for repeatable data reporting across various industries and products
- Design, prepare, and communicate common templates, tools, and visualizations
3. Create attractive reports, newsletters, and presentations to communicate market news & trends
- Present summary findings of market, competitor, and industry market intelligence in a concise manner
- Develop attractive monthly reports, newsletters, and other communications for distribution to a wide variety of audiences
- Work in a dynamic atmosphere with ability to produce results for quick-turnaround reporting requests.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Data Science, or Marketing required
- 3-7 years’ previous engineering, analytical, or marketing experience
- Industry experience in flow control markets, a plus.
Required Skills
- Analytical expertise and data management expertise using SQL, PowerBI, Excel, and other tools
- Expertise in the development of analytics and charts/graphs that can support B2B business decisions and identify opportunities
- Ability to analyze data, leverage new insights, and communicate findings concisely
- Strong communicator, especially in written form (PowerPoint, PowerBI, Excel, and Word)
- Strong presentation skills, especially in creating presentations and communicating substantial information in a concise and direct manner
- Rapid turnaround of briefing materials on requests for information and analysis.
Desired Skills
- Experience with primary/secondary market research methods and sources
- Domain-specific knowledge in Pumps, Valves, Seals, or Aftermarket Services
