Job Description:At Regions, the Marketing Copywriter will craft compelling, results-driven copies that drive customer engagement, conversions, and retention. This role will collaborate with marketing strategists, data analysts, and creative teams to develop compelling personalized, data-driven messaging that resonates with target audiences. This role will utilize addressable media, including direct mail, email, and next-best-action (NBA) direct response campaigns, to reach consumers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Writes and edits high-performing, compliant copy for direct mail, email, and next-best-action (NBA) campaigns promoting banking and financial services products (e.g. checking, savings, credit cards, loans, wealth management)
- Adapts procedures and processes to enhance the media creation and distribution process
- Establishes critical strategic and operational goals
- Handles complex problems as they arise
- Leverages customer segmentation and behavioral data to tailor messaging for different audiences
- Ensures copy aligns with brand voice, regulatory requirements (FDIC, CFPB, etc.), and best practices for financial services marketing
- Collaborates with strategy teams to enhance personalization and dynamic content strategies
- Works closely with designers to ensure copy and creative work together seamlessly
- Stays updated on banking and financial industry trends, compliance updates, and direct response best practices
- Mentors, coaches, and trains junior team members
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or a related field and eight (8) years of direct response copywriting experience, preferably in banking, fintech, or financial services
- Or High School Diploma or GED and twelve (12) years of professional experience in marketing
Preferences
- Proven success in direct mail, email marketing, and next-best-action (NBA) campaigns
- Strong understanding of customer journey mapping, segmentation, and data-driven personalization
- Familiarity with financial services compliance (e.g., Reg E, Reg DD, UDAAP) and ability to write clear, legally sound disclosures
- Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot) and marketing automation tools is a plus
Skills and Competencies
- A/B test messaging to optimize performance and response rates, CTRs, and conversion metrics
- Ability to analyze performance metrics and refine copy based on results
- Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
- Excellent direct response writing and editing skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
- Experience working with and adhering to content style guides (e.g. AP style)
- Keen attention to detail, to ensure quality and accuracy at each deliverable stage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Experience in film, video and television production preferred.

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role.
