Insights and Analytics is central to the growth of any business today and a high priority area for us at Mattel in EMEA. We are in growth mode. To support this growth we are seeking a Sr. Market Research Analyst on a temporary basis for a 2 years project based in Milano, who will be an outstanding addition to our knowledge hub. Someone that can deliver accurate, insightful analysis to drive consumer-based decision making for our Consumer Products business. This is a role that delves into the numbers, but also needs to understand the consumer context and trends with the primary goal of surfacing opportunities and monitoring current performance. Consumer Products organization are responsible for providing direction for the development and implementation of the licensing strategy for the Mattel brands, finding opportunities to grow our brands beyond the core toy spaces they are rooted in.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Own, mine and analyse large datasets that drive actionable insight into the EMEA Consumer product business, to stimulate sales growth.
- Contextualise Mattel performance to inform and challenge key stakeholders. This will require regular reporting, through automated tools, but you will need to surface movements with recommendations on actions. This could involve insight related to category opportunities, pricing, ranging, promotional mechanics, media performance and awareness of the competitive environment.
- Lead category and licensors specific insights projects leveraging internal, external, agency and project sourced data sources to build out compelling and engaging business presentations.
- You will need to be confident in presenting your insights and views to wide groups of stakeholders both internal, and external at all levels of seniority.
- This role connects with both the CP business and broader EMEA Insights team, so it will be crucial to develop your internal network and leverage others in the team to reach CP division goals.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 4 years of experience in the market data analysis function, with a minimum of a bachelors degree.
- Strong proficiency in full Microsoft suite of products. Strong Excel skills essential.
- Good experience in use of Tableau – preferably in Dashboard design.
- Understanding of GBQ and use of clouded data sources.
- Strong written & spoken English essential.
- Experience in a similar, seasonal, fast paced manufacturing / distribution organization. Alternatively retailing.
- Committed & driven to high levels of performance.
- Be able to demonstrate thought leadership from past roles.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and confident to recommend innovative solutions and actions.
- Strong organizational skills / ability to prioritize.
- Strong communication skills and ability to know when to say no.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization.
