We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead the strategy, design, development, and deployment of production test solutions for ŌURA products. This role will own manufacturing test systems across the full product lifecycle, from early development through mass production, partnering closely with cross-functional engineering teams and global Contract Manufacturers (CMs).
As a technical leader, you will drive test architecture, hardware and software development, manufacturing execution, data analysis, and continuous improvement to ensure robust, scalable, and reliable production test solutions. Success in this role requires strong hands-on engineering expertise, systems-level thinking, and the ability to collaborate across design, operations, quality, and external manufacturing partners.
This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days a week in our San Francisco office.
What You Will Do:- Drive Design for Testability (DFT) from early concept with Hardware, Systems, and Product teams.
- Define test requirements and coverage from product specifications, quality targets, and DFMEA/PFMEA.
- Architect and deploy high-volume test stations, fixtures, and processes across the product lifecycle.
- Build production test software in Python, covering instrument control, DAQ, sequencing, and factory data/MES integration.
- Lead FA/RCA on yield excursions, coverage gaps, and lab-to-factory correlation issues.
- Serve as the technical owner with CMs and test equipment vendors for test development, qualification, and deployment.
- Communicate test readiness, production risks, and recommendations to cross-functional partners and leadership on a regular cadence.
- 5+ years in manufacturing test engineering, including test station design, and Python
- A track record of taking products through EVT/DVT/PVT into mass production with global CMs.
- Applied experience with GR&R, SPC, Cp/Cpk, and DOE for test station qualification.
- Ability to read schematics and debug PCBAs down to the component level.
- Comfortable rapidly prototyping test methods for new technologies.
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% to domestic and international factory sites.
- Hands-on use of bench instruments (DMM, oscilloscope, SMU, power analyzer), including low-current and power measurements.
- Experience with wearables, consumer electronics, or embedded systems.
- Familiarity with optical, RF, and sensor/transducer test methods.
- Experience with AI-assisted development and productivity tools.
