Job Description:
Wafer Foundry Management (WFM) Technical and Quality (T&Q) Manager.
The WFM T&Q team supports foundry technology/fab location steering, NPI's, cross-qualifications, foundry mfg infrastructure, wafer process flows and process/material change management, foundry audits, FA/customer-return-investigations, RMA systems, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the worldwide Wafer Foundry Management (WFM) Technical and Quality team. Model Microchip’s Guiding Values and culture
- Work closely with Microchip's Business Units (BUs) regarding their foundry technology requirements.
- Responsibilities include but not limited to: foundry technology/fab location steering, NPI's, cross-qualifications, foundry mfg infrastructure, wafer process flows and process/material change management, foundry audits, FA/customer-return-investigations, RMA systems, etc.
- Create and maintain positive relationships with foundry partners, BUs and other groups. Travel as needed to meet this goal.
- Serve as the technology liaison between Microchip BUs and foundry partners: coordinate foundry shuttles, new tape-out schedules, and engineering wafer start plans.
- Create and maintain all documentation to support new and existing developments.
- Manage continuous improvement projects for internal and external developments and oversee engineering changes.
- Prepare for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) with strategic foundry partners
Requirements/Qualifications:
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
- Master’s or PhD degrees in engineering are preferred but not required.
- 10+ years of experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication and preferably experience with major wafer foundry companies.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills. Capable of collaborating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to work independently, resourceful, and willing to learn new skills and proactively solve problems.
- Familiarity with advanced semiconductor wafer processes, statistical analysis, parametric test (WAT) and wafer yield analysis.
- Familiarity with IATF-16949, ISO9001, AS9100 standards and other quality systems such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA. Understanding of statistical process control (SPC).
- Willing to travel and participate in meetings outside of a standard workday as needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
