Job Summary
The Senior Manager of Revenue Cycle Training and Quality is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and execution of a comprehensive training and quality program that supports all aspects of the Hospital and Professional Revenue Cycle at MMC. This role oversees a team of credentialed trainers and quality improvement professionals who develop and deliver education on revenue cycle systems and workflows, while also conducting quality reviews to ensure data integrity, process adherence, and continuous improvement opportunities.
The Senior Manager partners closely with Revenue Cycle operational leaders to identify competency needs, design and deliver effective training programs, and implement robust quality review processes. This includes the creation and maintenance of training curricula, user guides, job aids, and e-learning materials; the monitoring of process compliance and performance metrics; and the development of targeted interventions to improve staff knowledge, accuracy, and efficiency. May directly facilitate training when coverage is needed
As a team leader, this position is accountable for advancing a culture of excellence, ensuring that staff across the Revenue Cycle are well-equipped to achieve optimal performance, compliance, and service outcomes. The Senior Manager will play a key role in driving operational consistency, supporting new system implementations or upgrades, and providing executive leadership with insights into training effectiveness, quality trends, and workforce readiness.
Essential Functions

  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive training programs across all areas of the Revenue Cycle.
  • Oversee the development of onboarding curricula, role-specific training, and continuing education programs, and ensures training materials (user guides, job aids, e-learning modules, workflows) are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with organizational standards.
  • Development and maintenance of a platform to host and share department specific training and workflow support materials and references.
  • Maintain and enhance the certification program for trainers and ensure instructional consistency across the team.
  • Oversee the process for facilitating Revenue Cycle end user system access after completion of formal training and ensure a smooth and streamlined process by collaborating with Montefiore IT and the Vendor Management Office.
  • Direct quality review activities to assess process compliance, data integrity, and adherence to payer/regulatory requirements.
  • Establish quality benchmarks and metrics to measure compliance and quality outcomes.
  • Develop feedback mechanisms to ensure findings from quality reviews inform ongoing training improvements.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of training and quality professionals, fostering professional growth and accountability.
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle leaders, Montefiore IT, Compliance, and Human Resources to align training and quality initiatives with strategic priorities.
  • Represent the Revenue Cycle Training & Quality function in organizational committees, workgroups, and initiatives.
  • Monitor emerging trends, regulatory changes, and system upgrades to ensure training and quality programs remain current and effective.
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis to executive leadership on training effectiveness, quality review results, and workforce readiness.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by promoting innovation, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as a backup trainer when needed, directly leading training sessions or workshops in the absence of training staff to ensure continuity of education and onboarding.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Healthcare / Business Administration, Education / Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or Industrial/Systems Engineering
  • Masters Degree Preferred
  • 5 years of experience in hospital or professional revenue cycle operations Required
  • 2 years in a leadership role focused on training, quality or performance improvement Required
  • Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP), Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), or similar Preferred
  • AAPC Instructor, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), or similar Preferred
  • Deep knowledge of hospital revenue cycle functions (patient access, coding, billing, claims, denials, collections, etc.).
  • Expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design, and e-learning platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, measure outcomes, and recommend data-driven improvements.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in team leadership, coaching, and staff development.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution in a fast-paced environment.
