We are currently seeking a Senior National Accounts Manager to join our Trade Ally Strategy team to support supply chain engagement with our midstream and upstream programs, which aim to influence the stock and sales of high-efficient equipment. This role will provide market leadership to Energy Solutions' program teams in the HVAC sector. This individual will work closely with the domain lead, engineering lead, and the trade ally management (TAM) strategy group to provide strategic direction, coordination, and oversight to drive participation in all of Energy Solutions’ HVAC programs nationwide. Additionally, this individual will help develop and institutionalize utilization of outreach best practices for HVAC to support our growth.
As a member of the Energy Solutions team, you will have a broad impact on energy efficiency markets and greenhouse gas reductions through our work with North American utilities and other national leaders in energy efficiency. Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee and direct national trade ally strategy for HVAC focused primarily on maximizing results in all Energy Solutions' programs (note: this is distinct from Trade Alley (TA) strategy roles/activities, which focus on establishing long-term relationships with national market actors to achieve results beyond individual or collective program participation).
- Oversee the development and maintenance of Program Outreach Account Management plans and results, including:
- Oversee the development of Program Outreach Account Management Plans and ensure these plans are utilized and maintained by all programs.
- Coordinate with program TAM leads, program managers, supervisors, and the Domain Lead to ensure outreach staff are accountable to their individual goals, as defined in the account management plans.
- Facilitate coordination between program account management plans and national account management plans and account managers to benefit programs.
- Contribute to strategy and goal definitions for HVAC strategic plans.
- Manage and create content for HVAC specific trainings on outreach best practices
- Contribute to domain specific TAM Center of Excellence documentation.
- Oversee and maintain national and cross-program participation data and reporting for HVAC. Coordinate with Data Team, Marina, and Iris as needed.
- Coordinate with Domain Engineering Lead and Domain Lead on strategic initiatives and sharing information at regional and national level.
- Coordinate and manage communication mechanisms (e.g., Quarterly Domain Meetings, slack channel, or others) to ensure PMs and program outreach staff are well informed of national market actor activities, initiatives, and industry information.
- Provide strategic support and guidance on outreach for struggling programs
- Contribute to domain TA staff hiring as needed
- Oversee and direct HVAC area industry organization participation, memberships, and show/conference participation. (e.g., AHRI, MAFSI, etc.)
- Contribute to strategic market actor partnership initiatives / new product development within HVAC
- Contribute to development of program designs to maximize market participation
- Coordinate with other TA Domain leads and TAM Strategy team on sharing best practices and information
- Coordinate maintenance and access to program-specific materials for use in national and regional outreach efforts
Minimum qualifications for the position include:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a business-related, STEM, or environmental discipline and 10 years of professional experience in the commercial HVAC industry (HVAC) preferred but not required
- A minimum of 10 years relevant experience with a degree or a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience with no degree
- Experience in HVAC business and market. Deep understanding of HVAC supply chain, market actors, drivers, barriers, and methods of engagement to drive program participation.
- Established relationships with a wide variety of HVAC market actors in a sales or national account management role, such as chain restaurants, grocery, equipment manufacturers, distributors, dealers, etc.
- Possessing strong intrapersonal relationship skills and a demonstrated track record of developing and delivering value propositions.
- Demonstrated ability in launching new programs and increasing existing program participation desired.
- Project management experience including partnership management and program design development
- Willingness and eagerness to travel and engage the market in person
- Familiarity with salesforce or other CRM for tracking leads and opportunities
- Willingness to work as part of multiple teams and balance parallel workstreams
- Experience in energy or utility field, specifically in the energy efficiency and distributed energy resource technologies, programs and policies a plus
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, including building team morale and fostering collaboration.
- Demonstrated expression of Energy Solutions values, particularly accountability, collaboration and proactiveness.
- Experience with training and leading staff.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on core trade ally leadership activities
Compensation to commensurate with experience with the pay band of $105,000 - $137,000/Annually
Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package. Energy Solutions provides an excellent benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, other pre-tax contribution plans and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
